The Art Therapist will conduct individual or group sessions for residents of CSLMCH to promote safety, healing and developmental growth for children who have experienced abuse, neglect and complex trauma. This role will also require the candidate to support therapeutic programmes initiated by Therapy Services. Key Responsibilities: • Manage assigned caseload of min. 6 – 7 cases responsibly using evidence-based art therapy practices and in accordance with Therapy Team Charter. • Part-time therapist is expected to conduct an average of 5 – 6 individual sessions per week. Exceptions permitted for valid reasons such as training, medical leave or other approved absences, with supervisory awareness and approval. • Practice within areas of professional competence and seek clinical support from supervisor/other healthcare professionals, when appropriate. • Accurate and timely communication with all relevant stakeholders. • Involvement in treatment planning and consultation on the care of residents by attending Care Plan Meetings • Document therapy session records accurately and timely. This includes referral, assessment, formulation of art therapy intervention, treatment, review and termination. • Monitor and ensure that Art Therapy services offered consistently meets or exceeds clinical and service standard/targets. • Apply conduct, ethics values and relevant legislation to uphold the integrity and reputation of the organisation and the profession. • Assist and Support Therapy Team initiatives and programmes. Requirements: • Master’s degree in art therapy or related field, from an accredited university. Fresh graduates may be considered. • Registered or eligible for registration with a recognised Art Therapy professional body. • Knowledge of therapeutic intervention using Art Therapy in a residential care or social work setting preferred • Team player who contributes to a multi-disciplinary team, with good interpersonal and communication skills. • Self-motivated. Respectful. Responsible. Integrity. Hours of Work The incumbent shall be required to work from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The employer reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to amend the incumbent’s working hours and/or work schedule as may be necessary to meet operational requirements, including but not limited to the needs of residents and staffing considerations.
