AWS Infrastructure Engineer

Role Overview The AWS / Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for managing and supporting the client’s cloud and infrastructure environment, ensuring high availability, operational stability, and optimal system performance. The ideal candidate should have hands-on exposure to AWS infrastructure and a good understanding of VPC networking, subnets, routing, security groups, firewall rules, load balancing, and secure traffic flows. The role includes administration of AWS services, server management, monitoring, backup operations, patching activities, and infrastructure optimisation. The engineer will also work closely with application teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support business-critical systems and operational requirements. Key Responsibilities Cloud & AWS Administration • Administer and support AWS infrastructure, including:EC2 instancesStorage services (EBS, S3)IAM and access management Backup and recovery services Monitoring and alerting tools • Monitor AWS resource utilisation and system performance • Manage access controls, permissions, and security configurations • Support cloud operational activities and infrastructure maintenance • Infrastructure Optimisation & Cost Management • Server & Infrastructure Operations • Monitoring & Incident Management • Documentation & Knowledge Management • Vendor & Application Coordination Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services:EC2IAMStorage services Monitoring tools • Windows and Linux server administration • Infrastructure monitoring and alert management • Backup and recovery operations • Patching and maintenance management Basic to intermediate hands-on experience with AWS services • Understanding of Internet vs Intranet architecture concepts • Familiarity with UAT and Production environment separation • Basic understanding of ingress and egress traffic patterns • Ability to read, understand, and support AWS network and security designs • Good troubleshooting skills for connectivity, routing, and access-related issues • AWS networking and infrastructure fundamentals Key Objectives • Ensure stable and optimized infrastructure operations • Improve system availability and performance • Support proactive monitoring and incident resolution • Maintain operational documentation and governance standards • Drive continuous improvement and infrastructure optimisation initiatives Preferred Qualifications • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Solutions Architect Associate preferred • Basic networking or cloud certification would be an advantage • Exposure to security, network, or platform engineering teams
