We are a dependable ritual — a calm reset, served well, every day. Our work is grounded in ethical sourcing, freshly roasted beans, and clean execution behind the bar. We keep the operation steady, the standards clear, and the cup consistent. As we grow, we are looking for people who want to build something dependable with us. About the Role At Slab, the bar is the center of the work. You will be part of a small team that takes coffee seriously, supports each other through the rush, and grows together as we open new outlets. As Barista, you own the cup. Every espresso, every milk drink, every batch brew that leaves your bar represents the brand. The role is about consistency, calibration, and clean workflow — not performance. You are part of a small, focused team that takes coffee seriously and runs the bar like a workstation. Key Responsibilities • Prepare espresso-based drinks, batch brew, and specialty beverages to brand specification. • Calibrate grinders and dial in espresso at the start of each shift, and adjust as conditions change. • Steam milk to consistent texture and temperature; pour clean latte art where required. • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient bar workflow throughout service. • Monitor extraction quality, recipe adherence, and waste; flag issues early. • Clean and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and bare equipment per daily and weekly schedules. • Manage bar par stock — milk, beans, syrups, cups — and communicate restocking needs. • Engage customers with confident, accurate menu knowledge. • Support the floor team during peak periods to keep ticket times under control. Requirements • Prior barista experience preferred; strong candidates without experience may be considered for our trainee programme. • Basic understanding of espresso extraction, grind adjustment, and milk texturing. • Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to a consistent roster. • Good communication in English; ability to handle a queue calmly. What We Are Looking For A barista who treats the bar as a workstation, not a stage. You care about consistency more than novelty. You taste your shots, adjust your grind, wipe your steam wand, and reset your station — without being told. You are fast under pressure, but never sloppy. You take feedback seriously and you treat coffee as a craft worth getting right, every cup. What We Offer • Structured barista training covering calibration, extraction theory, milk technique, and origin knowledge. • Quality equipment, freshly roasted beans, and direct relationships with our origin partners. • Progression: Barista → Senior Barista → Head Barista →Trainer / Assistant Store Manager. • Performance reviews every 6 months with documented feedback. • A team that respects the craft and the people behind it. • Opportunity to grow with the brand as we open new outlets in Singapore and the region. How to Apply Send your CV and/or a short note on your barista experience and availability to hello@ember-axis.com. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.
