About this role
A Cashier / Counter Assistant must provide excellent customer service from food service counters in a busy prestigious site. Good presentation, service and people skills are a pre-requisite to meet the needs of our clients and customers. Duties: • Attending to customer requests, serving food or packaging it for takeaway. • Provide our customers with great service. • Pay attention to customer’s order to ensure accuracy when taking requests. • Should always strive to deliver outstanding customer service. • Responsibilities • Greeting customers as they arrive and making them feel welcome. • Answering questions about the menu and making note of special requests, if required. • Maintaining cleanliness standards by keeping the counters, tableware and utensils clean. • Assist with and abide by cleaning schedules to agreed standards. • Ensure that all catering equipment within the kitchen is in safe working order. To report any faults to management immediately. • Assist with all aspects of preparation of food service areas and presentation of food to the notified standard. • Replenishment of all food and equipment to ensure supplies will not stop during peak periods. • Report any customer complaints or compliments and take some remedial action if possible. • Carry out other reasonable tasks as directed by management. • Resolve on-the-job problems or to ask for advice from senior members of the team. • Assist at any special ad-hoc functions, some of which may occur outside working hours. • Work as a team to promote harmonious working relationships. Requirements: • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service, cashiering, or food service environment (preferred). • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide excellent customer service. • Well-groomed and presentable at all times, with a positive and professional attitude. • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. • Basic numeracy skills and experience in handling cash, payments, or POS systems. • Possession of a valid Food Safety Certificate will be an added advantage.
