About this role
Role Overview We are looking for an experienced and commercially astute Contract Manager to oversee all contractual and commercial matters for our construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong quantity surveying expertise with a focus on Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) works, and have proven experience managing contracts in high-value, technically demanding environments such as semiconductor fabrication facilities and data centres. Key Responsibilities • Manage the full spectrum of contract administration activities from pre-award through to final account settlement • Review, draft, and negotiate contract terms and conditions for main contracts, subcontracts, and supply agreements • Prepare and manage tender documentation, bills of quantities, cost estimates, and commercial submissions • Lead contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve favourable commercial outcomes • Monitor project costs, cash flow, and valuations, providing timely commercial reports to senior management • Assess, prepare, and manage variation orders, claims, and dispute resolution processes in accordance with contract terms • Conduct risk analysis and advise project teams on contractual obligations, rights, and liabilities • Ensure compliance with contract conditions, statutory requirements, and company commercial policies throughout the project lifecycle • Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to align commercial and operational objectives • Maintain accurate and complete contract records, correspondence logs, and commercial documentation • Mentor and provide guidance to junior quantity surveyors and contract executives within the team Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying with a focus in Mechanical and/or Electrical disciplines, or an equivalent qualification • Proven experience in contract administration and negotiation across a diverse range of contract and agreement types • Sound knowledge of the Security of Payment Act (SOP Act) and claims management processes in the construction industry
