Job Summary Senior Data Engineer for the bank's flagship risk data and reporting platform. You'll build and optimize data pipelines that process millions of records daily, managing terabytes of data that power critical risk calculations and regulatory reporting across global operations. This platform is the backbone of risk management infrastructure, delivering real-time insights to senior management and regulatory bodies worldwide. Mandatory Skill-set • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably in financial services or high-volume data environments; • Advanced SQL Server expertise: query optimization, execution plan analysis, performance tuning, index design, partitioning strategies, deadlock troubleshooting, and large-scale database design (multi-terabyte environments); • Strong data engineering fundamentals: data modeling, ETL best practices, and data quality frameworks; • Hands-on experience with Java/J2EE for scalable data applications; • Experience in building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines; • Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting performance and system issues; Desired Skill-set • Experience with Apache Spark (DataFrames, RDDs, Spark SQL) for large-scale ETL processing; • Exposure to SAP BusinessObjects or similar reporting/BI tools; • Background in banking, risk management, or regulatory reporting; • Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks; • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP); • Experience working in distributed data processing environments. Responsibilities • Design and develop robust data solutions on SQL Server with a focus on performance optimization; • Build and optimize large-scale ETL pipelines using Apache Spark and other tools; • Ensure data quality, integrity, and reliability through validation frameworks and monitoring; • Collaborate with analytics and BI teams to deliver regulatory reports and insights; • Troubleshoot and resolve complex data pipeline issues and system bottlenecks; • Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and best practices in data engineering; • Support large-scale risk data processing systems handling high-volume, mission-critical data; • Contribute to the architecture and enhancement of the bank’s risk data and reporting platform.
