About this role
We are seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on Dental Technician Trainee to join our laboratory team. In this entry-level role, you will learn the artistry and science behind fabricating dental prosthetics, including crowns, bridges, and orthodontic appliances. You will work directly under the supervision of experienced Dental Technicians and Laboratory Managers, gaining practical, real-world experience while mastering the technical skills required for a successful career in dental technology. No prior experience is required—we provide full, step-by-step training. Key Responsibilities• Learn and Master Fabrication: Assist in and gradually take over the creation of dental models, custom trays, bite rims, and prosthetic frameworks. • Plaster Room Operations: Mix, pour, and trim plaster and stone models from dental impressions provided by clinics. • Digital & Traditional Articulation: Learn to articulate models correctly to simulate the patient's bite. • Introduction to CAD/CAM: Assist with scanning models and utilizing digital dental software for 3D printing or milling prosthetics (where applicable). • Finishing and Polishing: Learn the precise techniques for polishing, contouring, and finishing acrylic and metal dental appliances. • Lab Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization within the laboratory, ensuring tools and machinery are properly maintained. • Quality Control: Follow strict prescription specifications from dentists and ensure all work meets infection control and quality standards. Requirements & Qualifications• Education: O' Levels and above • Manual Dexterity: Exceptional hand-eye coordination and a steady hand for working with small, delicate components. • Attention to Detail: Ability to spot minor imperfections and follow highly specific, customized prescriptions. • Artistic Aptitude: A good eye for shape, color, symmetry, and form is highly beneficial. • Tech-Savvy: Willingness to learn modern digital dentistry tools and software (CAD/CAM). • Reliability & Attitude: Strong work ethic, patience, and a eagerness to accept constructive feedback during the learning process.
