About this role
We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to support detailed engineering, design development, and project execution activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing engineering drawings, performing design calculations, supporting procurement activities, and ensuring engineering deliverables are completed in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and schedule requirements. Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering & Design• Execute detailed engineering and design activities to meet project requirements, contractual obligations, and applicable industry standards. • Prepare and review: P&ID drawings Fabrication drawings Equipment layout drawings Pipe routing drawings Equipment and material datasheets • Perform: Equipment sizing calculations Pipe sizing calculations Hydraulic calculations Pipe stress analysis Material take-offs (MTO) • Raise purchase requisitions for equipment and materials. • Review, verify, and sign off engineering design deliverables. Project & Technical Support• Liaise with in-house and overseas design teams to ensure engineering deliverables are completed on schedule. • Support Project Management and Construction Teams during project execution activities. • Provide engineering support during testing, commissioning, and start-up activities as required. • Participate in technical reviews, design discussions, and problem-solving activities. Procurement & Cost Optimisation• Evaluate vendor quotations and provide technical recommendations during vendor selection. • Identify and implement value engineering opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce project costs. • Support tendering and business development activities by providing engineering input where required. Qualifications & Requirements• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Engineering. • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering design and detailed engineering activities within industrial, manufacturing, process, utilities, oil & gas, chemical, energy, or infrastructure projects. • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, piping systems, equipment layouts, and engineering calculations. • Experience in equipment sizing, hydraulic calculations, material take-offs, and engineering documentation. • Highly motivated, proactive, and able to work effectively under pressure and tight project schedules. • Strong communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams. Preferred Experience• Experience supporting construction, testing, commissioning, start-up, or operational activities. • Proficiency in AutoCAD. • Familiarity with SAP, Navisworks, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
