About this role
Responsibilities• Gather citizen and business requirements through service journey mapping and build business cases using rapid prototyping techniques. • Produce user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria, and construct prototypes to validate requirements and measure delivered value. • Research and recommend suitable technologies, including AI tools, ensuring alignment with central technology directions and whole-of-government solutions through hands-on experimentation. • Assess and apply appropriate development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall, across varying project environments. • Oversee system readiness ahead of deployment and conduct impact assessments for proposed changes. • Support the Chief Information Officer in surfacing digital transformation opportunities across the agency. • Establish product vision, roadmap, and objectives that are anchored to overarching business strategy. • Translate product strategies into actionable plans and leverage data analytics to guide product decisions. • Facilitate workshops, focus group sessions, and sprint reviews to drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholder groups. • Collaborate with technical and business teams to iterate on solutions using tools such as Figma, Miro, JIRA, GitHub, GitLab, and rapid application development platforms including OutSystems. Requirements• Degree in Information Technology or a related discipline. • Minimum 4 years of experience in IT business analysis, solution design, and testing, with exposure to at least one full software or product development lifecycle. • Proficiency in working with modern web technologies (e.g., React, JavaScript, Python, Java, .NET/C#), government development tools and CI/CD concepts including SHIP/HATS, and content management systems such as Sitefinity or SharePoint Online; a Business Analysis certification (e.g., CBAP), Scrum Master, or Product Owner certification is advantageous. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent stakeholder management skills and the capacity to facilitate discussions across all levels of the organisation; a proactive, inquisitive mindset with the ability to code and iterate during planning sessions is essential.
