About this role
Service Crew supports all front-of-house and basic back-of-house service functions to ensure smooth, efficient, and hygienic food service operations. The role encompasses customer service, food handling, cashiering, and maintaining overall cleanliness of the cafeteria and dining environment. Key Responsibilities1. Customer Service & Service Operations● Attend to customers in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner ● Take orders, assist with food selection, and manage customer enquiries ● Support different service formats (counter service, buffet, takeaway, café, etc.) ● Ensure smooth service flow and queue management during peak periods 2. Food Handling & Service● Serve food according to standard portioning and presentation guidelines ● Assist in basic food and beverage preparation where required ● Replenish food items and ensure continuous availability during service ● Maintain food safety standards and prevent cross-contamination 3. Cashiering & Transactions● Operate POS system and process payments (cash, card, digital) ● Ensure accurate billing and handling of transactions ● Perform basic cash handling and end-of-shift reconciliation 4. Cleanliness & Dining Area Upkeep● Maintain cleanliness of dining area, service counters, and workstations ● Clear tables, trays, and ensure timely removal of used crockery ● Follow cleaning schedules and sanitation procedures for all service areas ● Support waste disposal and ensure premises remain clean and presentable at all times 5. Food Safety & Hygiene Compliance● Practise proper personal hygiene and handwashing protocols ● Use appropriate protective gear (e.g. gloves, hair restraints) ● Ensure utensils, equipment, and service areas are properly cleaned and sanitised ● Comply with food safety procedures and company standards aligned with regulatory requirements 6. Operational Support● Assist in stock replenishment and basic inventory handling ● Support opening and closing duties (setup, cleaning, shutdown) ● Work collaboratively with kitchen and service team to ensure smooth operations ● Follow all workplace safety procedures during daily tasks Requirements• Relevant F&B, cafeteria, or hospitality experience preferred • Able to support front-of-house and basic back-of-house operations • Good customer service and communication skills • Able to handle food service, cashiering, and POS transactions • Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices • Able to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards • Able to perform manual tasks and able to work in a fast-paced environment • Team player willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required
