About this role
The position is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial and accounting functions to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow management, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. The Finance & Accounting Manager manages full sets of accounts, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing. The role involves preparing management reports, financial statements, and budgets to support management decision-making and business planning. In addition, the role oversees cost control and project costing for interior design works, ensuring expenses are properly tracked against budgets and project timelines. The Finance & Accounting Manager liaises with external parties such as auditors, tax agents, and banks, and ensures timely submission of tax filings, CPF contributions, and other statutory obligations. Through the implementation and use of accounting systems and internal controls, the role supports operational efficiency, financial transparency, and sustainable business growth at Alpuz Interior Design. Specific Responsibilities 1. Manage full sets of accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing. 2. Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, and cash flow forecasts to support business decision-making. 3. Develop and monitor annual budgets and periodic forecasts, ensuring alignment with company financial objectives. 4. Oversee project costing and expense tracking for interior design projects, ensuring costs are properly allocated and controlled against approved budgets. 5. Monitor cash flow and working capital to ensure timely payments to suppliers and collection from clients. 6. Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including GST, CPF, corporate tax, and other regulatory filings. 7. Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, banks, and relevant authorities on financial and compliance matters. 8. Implement and maintain accounting systems, internal controls, and financial procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy. 9. Review and approve invoices, payments, and expense claims in accordance with company policies. 10. Support management with financial analysis, cost optimisation initiatives, and recommendations to improve profitability. Technical Skills and Competencies 1. Proficient in full set accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and financial closing processes. 2. Strong knowledge of Singapore accounting standards, GST regulations, CPF requirements, and corporate tax compliance. 3. Competent in preparing financial statements, management accounts, budgets, and cash flow forecasts. 4. Experienced in project costing and cost control, particularly in tracking expenses against interior design project budgets and timelines. 5. Proficient in the use of accounting software and digital accounting systems to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and data integrity. 6. Ability to analyse financial data and interpret variances to support management decision-making. 7. Knowledge of internal controls and financial procedures to minimise errors, manage risk, and ensure compliance. 8. Strong understanding of invoice processing, payment workflows, and credit control practices. 9. Ability to work with spreadsheets and reporting tools for financial analysis, reconciliation, and reporting. 10.
