The CDD Business Advisory and Support (CBAS) unit operates as the 1.5 line of defense and functions as a bridge between Branch’s Business segments (1st line of defense) and Control /Support (2nd line of defense) units to support the Corporate & Institutional Banking (C&IB) and Wealth Management (WM) businesses on Client Due Diligence (CDD) related matters including: • Documents preparation required for client onboarding and periodic reviews. • Liaising with key stakeholders like Business, Compliance and Ops units to address any gaps in the CDD reviews. • Monitoring of client accounts (including onboarding conditions, adverse news, documentation validity) and initiate trigger reviews. • Conduct AML/CFT related in-house surveillance reviews along with business and compliance. • Prepare MIS (e.g. monthly CDD statistics report) and respond to AML /CFT regulatory surveys. • Initiation and implementation of process improvement and digital transformation projects to streamline and automate the name screening and review process. Job Purpose The intern will gain hands-on exposure to the WM and C&IB business, supporting both client onboarding and periodic review processes within the Bank. The role provides practical learning opportunities to understand how banks manage client relationships across the full client lifecycle, including onboarding of new clients and ongoing periodic reviews for existing clients. The intern will contribute to these activities while building a strong foundation for a future career in banking. Job Content Overall view of responsibilities and duties • Gain understanding of client onboarding and periodic review processes within WM and C&IB, including documentation and client lifecycle management. • Receive training on the Bank’s KYC/CDD framework and assist in onboarding and periodic review of clients. • Support name screening activities and basic information checks on clients and related parties. • Assist in preparation of client review packs, including documentation collation and basic write-ups. • Develop ability to review client profiles and financial information and provide simple observations. • Support tracking of onboarding/review cases to ensure completeness and timely follow-up. Opportunities & Exposure • Opportunity to work closely with Front Office (Relationship Managers, Wealth Advisors etc.) to understand client needs and relationship management. • Exposure to front-to-back processes within WM and C&IB. • Access to internal tools and platforms to support client research and analysis. • Participate in discussions on client onboarding and account management processes. • Gain visibility into the end-to-end client lifecycle within WM and C&IB. Requirements • Open to students or fresh graduates from Business, Finance, Banking, Economics or related disciplines. • Candidates from polytechnic, diploma or equivalent programmes are welcome to apply. • Basic understanding of banking or financial services industry is an advantage. • Familiarity with client onboarding or documentation processes is a plus. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). • Strong attention to detail and sense of responsibility. • Keen interest in building a career in banking. • Good communication and ability to work with multiple stakeholders. • Proactive and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment. • Able to work independently with guidance and meet timelines. • Candidate must be able to commit to an internship period of 6 months.
