Investment Analyst Intern (from Jun/Jul 2026)

This is a unique internship opportunity to work with our Fund Investment Team with a focus on maritime and supply chain ventures. The team's goal is to back and nurture creative companies that start up within this sector by offering them the necessary resources as well as direction for their success. You can expect direct involvement with and mentoring from our seniors and maritime domain experts. Roles you will perform: 1.      Super Fundraiser (Investor Relations & LP Engagement) 2.      Financial & Investment Analyst (Growth Stage Due Diligence) Responsibilities: • Assist the investment team in its function as a venture studio & fund investor • Assist with Deal Sourcing for potential investors & investments • Conduct Investment Analysis of potential investors & investees • Conduct Due Diligence for potential investments • Prepare term sheets, investment reports, financial models for valuations, trend analysis • Conduct ecosystem & startups research, analysis & create reports • Assist with planning other strategic initiatives Requirements: • Prior experience as Investment Analyst in a VC will be advantageous • Exceptional academic credentials, & CCA records with strong finance, analytics, or research specialization • Keen interest in the tech& maritime sectors with excellent qualitative & quantitative analytical skills • Highly self-motivated individual with a go-getter attitude & independent thinking • Strong communication, presentation & networking skills • Membership in SMU Asia Private Equity Club or similar club preferred • Proficient in financial modelling preferred • 5 days’ work week preferred (4 days’ work week can be considered) BENEFITS • ShipsFocus interns will learn to take be entrusted with real job responsibilities • You will be given full ownership of your projects • You will be given opportunities to participate and lead in real work projects • You will be able to apply your technical and soft skills in a dynamic team environment • You can gain knowledge and learn from venture builders, capitalists and maritime domain experts • You can gain in-depth knowledge and experience in a vibrant venture studio and the maritime tech startup ecosystem that we specialize in
