About this role
Key Responsibilities• Manage and administer enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, operating systems, middleware, and cloud environments. • Provide day-to-day operations, monitoring, support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of infrastructure systems. • Ensure the availability, performance, security, and reliability of mission-critical AFC system infrastructure. • Perform installation, configuration, upgrading, patching, and maintenance of hardware and software platforms. • Support infrastructure deployed in both on-premises environments and Government on Commercial Cloud (GCC) platforms. • Administer and maintain:Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)Microsoft Windows Server environmentsIBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS)IBM WebSphere MQ / IBM MQ • Monitor system health, capacity utilization, and performance to proactively identify and resolve issues. • Develop and maintain automation scripts for system administration and operational efficiency. • Participate in infrastructure planning, architecture reviews, and technology enhancement initiatives. • Conduct technical research and development to support continuous innovation and modernization efforts. • Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures. • Ensure compliance with security policies, governance requirements, and operational standards. • Collaborate with application, network, database, and security teams to resolve complex technical issues. • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system configurations. • Support infrastructure deployment, migration, and cloud adoption projects. Qualifications & Requirements• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Data Communications, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. • Diploma holders with significant relevant experience and technical expertise may also be considered. • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in system administration and infrastructure support. • Professional certifications in Red Hat Linux and/or Microsoft technologies, including cloud certifications, are preferred. • Strong experience administering Red Hat Linux and Microsoft Windows Server environments. • Experience managing middleware platforms such as IBM WebSphere Application Server and IBM MQ. • Knowledge of system monitoring, performance tuning, patch management, and infrastructure maintenance. • Experience supporting enterprise-grade production environments. • Proficiency in Linux shell scripting and automation. • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. • Willingness to support mission-critical systems and participate in after-hours support when required. Preferred / Advantageous Skills • Experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Government on Commercial Cloud (GCC). • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform. • Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible. • Familiarity with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices. • Knowledge of cloud migration, containerization, and modern infrastructure technologies. • Experience supporting transportation, payment, or AFC systems.
