Job OverviewWe are seeking an IBM i / AS400 Operations Engineer to support daily IT operations, batch processing, and system monitoring activities in an enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring system availability, monitoring scheduled jobs, responding to incidents, and supporting operational stability across critical platforms. Key Responsibilities• Monitor and operate IBM i (AS400) systems to ensure optimal system performance and availability • Execute, monitor, and troubleshoot batch jobs and automated schedules using enterprise scheduling tools • Ensure jobs complete within defined SLAs and promptly escalate issues when deviations occur • Perform daily operational activities including system health checks, backup verification, and batch job restarts • Respond to system alerts, incidents, and operational issues following established SOPs and escalation procedures • Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and support teams during incidents, deployments, and maintenance activities • Maintain and update operational documentation, runbooks, and shift handover reports • Support planned maintenance, upgrades, patching, and disaster recovery activities • Follow IT security, compliance, and change management standards • Provide shift-based operational support including weekends, nights, and holidays when required Required Skills & Qualifications• Basic understanding of batch processing, job dependencies, and scheduling calendars • Working knowledge of IBM i / AS400 environments including job queues, subsystems, and basic commands • Experience with scheduling tools such as Rocket-Zena, Control-M, CA Workload Automation, or similar • Familiarity with incident management, monitoring, and escalation processes • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills • Ability to follow operational procedures accurately with strong attention to detail • Comfortable working in shift-based environments and handling time-critical operations Preferred Skills• 1–2 years of experience in IT operations, computer operations, or data center support roles • Experience working in enterprise IT or data center environments • Basic scripting or automation knowledge (CL scripting, Shell scripting, etc.) • Exposure to ITIL processes and operational best practices • Certification or formal training in IBM i / AS400 administration or scheduling tools Soft Skills• Strong sense of responsibility and reliability • Good verbal and written communication skills • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure • Team-oriented mindset with proactive problem-solving abilities Ankita EA License Number: 23C2060 Registration ID is R22109715 Disclaimer: The company is committed to ensuring the privacy and security of your information.
