About this role
About Us Taler is a growing, boutique architectural studio in Singapore. We specialize in high-intent design across diverse typologies, including residential apartments, unique landed houses, commercial mixed-use spaces, and intricate heritage conservation projects. As a nimble, agile team, we are growing and are now looking for an ambitious technical anchor to join our founding team, take full ownership of our delivery pipeline, and establish our technical and regulatory standards from the ground up. The Opportunity: Drive, Lead & Grow This is not a regular production role in a large corporation where you are just a cog in the machine. You will be our in-house technical authority. You will work directly alongside the founders to navigate the critical transition from CORENET 2 to the newly mandated CORENET X framework. As the firm scales, you will have the direct track to step up as our Technical Lead, building and mentoring your own team of coordinators and modelers. Key Responsibilities (Your Domain) • Own the Submission Pipeline: Take full ownership of compiling, managing, and clearing all statutory approvals with Singapore authorities (BCA, URA, SCDF, NEA, PUB, LTA, and NParks). • Champion CORENET X Integration: Set up our studio’s 3D BIM workflows, templates, and model federation practices to meet the mandatory IFC+SG data standards for the Design, Construction, and Completion Gateways. • Master Complex Typologies: Apply precise development control guidelines and complex GFA strategies for landed houses and apartments; Solve spatial planning and code compliance for commercial mixed-use developments; Treat historical fabric with care, developing sensitive technical details for gazetted conservation projects. • Bridge Design & Execution: Translate boutique design concepts into constructible, highly accurate architectural working drawings, wall sections, and detailing. • Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Act as the primary technical point of contact, review and federate engineering models (Structural and M&E) using Revit, proactively identifying and resolving spatial or code clashes before official authority submission. Requirements & Qualifications • Education: Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Building Information Modelling, or a related built-environment discipline. • Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on local experience within Singapore architectural practices, explicitly handling local building authority submissions. • Regulatory Expertise: Solid grasp of the Singapore Fire Code, BCA Accessibility Code, URA Development Control guidelines, and heritage conservation parameters. • Systems Mastery: Strong working proficiency in Autodesk Revit (for CORENET X 3D BIM requirements) and AutoCAD (for legacy CORENET 2 adjustments). • Startup Mindset: A proactive problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced boutique environment. You are someone who enjoys building systems rather than just following existing ones. • Communication: Excellent communication skills to represent the firm confidently in front of clients, consultants, and government officers. What We Offer • Founding Team Impact: High visibility, flat hierarchy, and a direct voice in how the studio delivers its architecture. • Career Growth: Direct, merit-based path to Technical Manager / Lead as we scale our project pipeline and team. • Competitive Compensation: Salary matching your experience, plus performance incentives tied to successful project milestones. • Professional Development: Full support and sponsorship for advanced training in emerging CORENET X compliance workflows.
