About this role
Company ProfileWe are a tech start-up building next-generation software and hardware for the luxury sector, combining interactive 3D, VR, video, and automation technologies to create immersive digital and physical commerce experiences. Our mission is to redefine how premium brands engage, sell, and serve customers through elegant, high-performance technology. Role OverviewWe are looking for a full-time Lead Mobile App Engineer to lead the development of advanced mobile experiences across iOS and Android. This is a hands-on leadership role for an engineer who combines strong product judgment with deep technical capability. You should be equally comfortable shaping application architecture, solving difficult performance problems, building polished user interfaces, and working close to the platform when cross-platform abstractions are not enough. The role requires experience across both iOS and Android, including cross-platform development and native library integration. You will help create mobile products that combine premium design, computer vision, graphics, local data, video, and connected hardware into fast, reliable, best-in-class customer experiences. What You’ll DoYou will lead the architecture, development, and delivery of our mobile applications, from early prototypes through production-scale releases. You will work across cross-platform application development, native platform capabilities, custom UI components, graphics rendering, computer vision, on-device databases, background processing, and integration with backend and hardware systems. You will be expected to make sound decisions about when to use shared cross-platform code and when to build native modules for performance, platform access, or user experience. You will also help solve low-level challenges involving memory usage, frame rates, rendering pipelines, device constraints, application size, startup time, and battery efficiency. You will collaborate closely with backend, hardware, automation, design, 3D, video, and product teams to turn ambitious ideas into cohesive mobile experiences. You will help define mobile engineering standards, development workflows, testing practices, release processes, observability, and technical documentation. You will also help establish a modern development process for the AI era, using AI-assisted engineering to accelerate prototyping, debugging, testing, documentation, code review, and repetitive implementation work while maintaining strong technical judgment and ownership. What We’re Looking ForWe are looking for someone with substantial experience building and shipping high-quality applications for both iOS and Android. You should understand cross-platform development, native integration, graphics and rendering, computer vision, local data storage, custom interface development, and mobile performance optimisation. This role is not about checking boxes against a long list of frameworks. It is about technical depth, adaptability, judgment, and execution. You should be able to investigate difficult problems, identify bottlenecks, simplify complexity, and deliver solutions that perform reliably across a wide range of devices. You care about the details customers notice: responsiveness, visual quality, smooth motion, stability, and intuitive interaction. More importantly, you bring energy, urgency, and pride in craft. You are hungry to build best-in-class products. You take responsibility for outcomes, communicate clearly, make thoughtful trade-offs, and raise the standard of the team around you. Ideal TraitsYou are highly self-directed, commercially aware, and comfortable in a start-up environment where priorities evolve quickly. You enjoy working across product, design, and engineering boundaries and are willing to go deeper into platform internals when the experience demands it. You do not need to know every tool on day one. You do need to learn quickly, make effective decisions, and consistently deliver work that moves the company forward. Why This Role MattersThis is a foundational mobile engineering role. The applications you build will be a primary way customers experience our technology and will connect our software, media, 3D, vision, automation, and hardware capabilities. For the right person, this is an opportunity to take ownership of a major product platform from the ground up and help define what premium mobile commerce experiences can become.
