Red Dot Penguins is looking for reliable and professional Permanent Part-Time Lifeguards to support school-based aquatics operations. The lifeguard will be responsible for maintaining a safe pool environment, supervising pool users, responding to emergencies, supporting school swimming activities, and representing the company professionally when interacting with stakeholders. This role is suitable for individuals who are responsible, alert, physically capable, and comfortable working in a school environment with students, teachers, coaches, parents, operations staff, and other stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Pool Supervision and Safety • Maintain active supervision of students and pool users at all times. • Monitor pool activities and identify potential risks before they escalate. • Enforce pool rules and safety procedures professionally. • Ensure students only enter the pool when authorised school staff, teachers, or coaches are present. • Maintain clear visibility and vigilance while on pool deck. • Remain rescue-ready throughout duty. Emergency Response • Respond promptly to water-based incidents, injuries, medical emergencies, or unsafe situations. • Perform rescue, first aid, CPR, and AED response within level of training and certification. • Follow the site’s Emergency Action Plan and escalation process. • Assist in pool evacuation where required. • Report all accidents, incidents, hazards, and near misses according to company and site procedures. Access Control and Session Support • Support gate control and ensure access points are managed according to site requirements. • Assist with student headcounts where required. • Ensure the pool is cleared at the end of each session. • Support safe transition between classes, activities, and events. • Communicate clearly with teachers, coaches, school staff, and RDP management. Equipment and Facility Checks • Check that rescue equipment, first aid equipment, and safety items are present and accessible. • Report damaged, missing, or unsafe equipment immediately. • Conduct basic visual checks of the pool area before and during duty. • Assist in maintaining a tidy and safe pool deck. • Support setup and pack-up of basic pool equipment where required. Stakeholder Management and Professional Conduct • Represent Red Dot Penguins professionally when interacting with students, teachers, coaches, parents, school staff, facilities teams, and other stakeholders. • Communicate calmly, respectfully, and clearly with all stakeholders. • Escalate concerns appropriately instead of handling sensitive matters independently. • Be punctual, properly attired, and ready for duty. • Maintain a professional and respectful attitude at all times. • Refrain from mobile phone use while on active lifeguard duty. • Observe safeguarding expectations when working around students. • Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling incidents or student-related matters. • Follow instructions from the appointed site lead, school staff, and RDP management. Reporting and Communication • Complete daily attendance or duty logs where required. • Submit incident reports promptly and accurately. • Escalate operational issues, safety concerns, lateness, sickness, or inability to attend duty as early as possible. • Participate in briefings, updates, and site-specific induction sessions. Requirements • Valid Singapore Life Saving Society Bronze Medallion certification. • Valid CPR and AED certification. • Valid Standard First Aid certification. • Physically fit and confident in water rescue situations. • Physically able to perform the timed rescue item required under the Bronze Medallion standard. • Able to remain alert and focused for extended periods. • Responsible, punctual, and dependable. • Comfortable working in a school environment. • Prior lifeguarding, swim coaching, or school aquatics experience will be advantageous. Expected Standards The lifeguard is expected to: • Treat safety as the top priority. • Be present, alert, and rescue-ready at all times. • Communicate calmly and professionally. • Follow SOPs, EAPs, and site-specific instructions. • Represent Red Dot Penguins positively in stakeholder interactions. • Work as part of a team and support internal cover arrangements where possible. • Uphold a high standard of professionalism, reliability, and care.
