Lion City Parkour Instructor ( Kids & Adults ) – 3-Month Trial

Lion City Parkour is hiring! We are looking for passionate, reliable individuals who enjoy coaching and working with kids, teens, and adults, as well as being part of a team that is growing a lively community centred around movement and play. Our company runs an indoor facility that specializes in the sport of Parkour, which really is just using your body to move around the environment (crawling, jumping, climbing and even flipping!). We also teach at various schools and outdoor spots around Singapore. No parkour experience? That’s okay. We have the best instructors in our academy to shape one up from a complete beginner to a confident coach! Join our 3-month Training Attachment (paid by the hour) if you're interested to learn more about coaching and gain experience with working in a Parkour academy. If you have other ways to further contribute and value-add to our business, we’re all ears too. Role Your main role will be a Coach. On paper, you are the person in charge of delivering a lesson to a group of students. However, your impact can go further than that. You are also a leader, a mentor, a motivator, a role model, all of which are integral to our mission to change lives through movement and play. Key ResponsibilitiesCoaching (Primary Focus) • Participate in our Parkour and Flips classes as a student first, then slowly transition to assisting and eventually leading these classes for all ages (from 3 years old, till 70+) and skill levels. • Be exposed to and pick up ways to lead the different types of classes such as: Regular Classes, Workshops, Birthday Parties, Camps, Private Classes, CCAs, etc., both indoors and outdoors.  • Create a fun, uplifting, and progressive learning environment in classes for students to explore movement, and empower them to challenge themselves mindfully. • Uphold safety standards and class quality at all times • Understand the company’s SOPs regarding classes, booking system, customer relations, gym maintenance, as well as familiarise oneself to the company culture. • Continuously improving your coaching skills and knowledge of parkour through your time with us. Of course, apart from just being a coach, we will want you to be involved with our team and community such as: • Actively participate with our community during Coaches Training and Gatherings. • Get to know our students and families and build camaraderie. • Promote and embody Lion City Parkour’s core values as much as possible. • Help to drive participation in our special events and camps in our company. • Gym maintenance such as cleaning, resetting our parkour set-ups, housekeeping. • Regular team meetings and one-on-ones with managers to align on goals. Admin (Secondary Focus)  If you’re looking for more than “just a coaching job” and want room to grow, we’d love to hear from you. There are many roles that would help a young parkour gym business like ours: • Social Media Manager • Videographer / Editor  • Sales Outreach • Digital Marketing  • SEO Do note that it has to be on top of the coaching roles and not a standalone role. This will increase the chances of helping you transit into a full-time role with us. RequirementsWe’re looking for 2 Female Coaches and 1 Male Coach for this intake. MUST be Singaporean Preferably done with National Service and Full-Time Education. Time Availablity:  • Schedule is flexible, but week-evenings are required, as well as one weekend • Minimum of 2-3 classes to participate/learn from per week. • Have to complete a full 3-month training phase with us. • Must attend Coaches Training every Wednesday night. • Expected Hours – About 6-12 hours per week The following is not entirely required but will be a huge plus in landing the role: • Experience working with kids and adults in a coaching or mentorship capacity. • Having a background in sports, fitness, and exercise physiology. • Worked in a school, gym, or sports business like ours before. • First-aid Certification • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Work-place professionalism such as timeliness, responsiveness, attention to detail, and taking in feedback • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed for classes or events. NOTE: As you will be working with schools, formal paperwork will be required, as well as child-safeguarding and various background checks before you can be allowed access to teach in the school. Trust in yourself, in us, and in the long process – that’s where the true lasting gains are at.  Pay • All new staff will have to go through a 3-month training period with us of about 2-3 classes a week (Up to 80 hours). • Coaching Training Rate of $15/hr in your first 20 hours with us. • Base hourly pay growth up to $30-$70 as your skills improve and you take on bigger and higher level classes. • Admin (Secondary Role) rates are to be negotiated. • Opportunities for other voluntary gigs within the company to further increase pay and hours.
