RESPONSIBILITIES • Strategic Communications & Social Media • Support with implementing integrated marketing and communications strategies to strengthen CIS brand identity as an interdisciplinary college by driving awareness of its academic programmes and student life and enhance its reputation among stakeholders. • Support initiatives that raise the profile of CIS faculty expertise, student achievements, and internship experiences through strategic storytelling and content marketing. • Manage and execute the College's social media strategy across various platforms, including content planning, content creation, admissions and acceptance campaigns), prospective student engagement initiatives, and performance tracking in collaboration with the appointed social media agency. • Monitor industry and platform trends to identify new content opportunities and ensure the College's marketing approach remains current, effective, and aligned with prospective student behaviour. • Monitor SMU news platforms including SMU Daily Alerts, SMU Engage, SMU Libraries, SMU Engage, SMU City Perspectives, SMU Research, SMU blog daily alerts for news coverage on College's faculty and research and post them on social media. • Content Development & Brand Management • Support the launch and maintenance of the student experience webpage, featuring internship stories, student achievements, and event highlights. • Manage student content articles, including student outreach, interview coordination, content development, editing, and publication for posting on website. • Curate, create, and manage content across digital and print platforms (e.g., website, EDMs, brochures, prospectuses, and social media), including coordinating photography and videography for marketing campaigns, events, and student engagement initiatives where required. • Conduct photoshoot for new faculty members in the last quarter of 2026 (Nov - Dec). • Maintain a repository of media assets and news coverage to support the College's branding and storytelling. • Support the refresh of the Integrative Walls initiative, including budget approval coordination, vendor quotations, content collation, print production, and installation. Continue the implementation of the Integrative Walls refresh initiative, including content collation, print production coordination, and installation arrangements. • Support cabinet and display updates, including faculty book showcases and procurement coordination for display materials. • Coordinate the design and production of marketing collaterals, corporate merchandise, and gifts that enhance brand visibility and stakeholder engagement. • Website & Digital Projects • Oversee and support ongoing website enhancement initiatives, including content and structural updates, SEO optimisation, web analytics monitoring, and coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders. • Continue with the completion of integrating CEC website content into the College website by Jan 2027, including content collation, layout planning, draft reviews, responsive checks, and launch coordination with IT. • Campaigns, Events & Outreach • Support marketing communications and event publicity for initiatives including Open House, guest lectures, Summer Research Camp, residential life activities at SMU Prinsep Street Residences, and Admissions-related outreach activities such as CIS gallery setup and recruitment marketing campaigns. • Coordinate the production of brochures and print marketing materials for Open House and other school events. • Support pre-production planning and content gathering for the Enhanced Core Curriculum video project scheduled for 2027. • Assist with design coordination and publicity materials related to the CIS Annual Report launch preparations. • Serve as the primary liaison between CIS and OCCM to ensure alignment with University branding and communications strategies, including participation in joint campaigns and publicity efforts. • Additional Information • This is a contract position to provide maternity cover for 7 months. • The successful candidate is expected to ensure continuity of ongoing marketing and communications initiatives during the coverage period. • Maintain professional working relationships with internal departments, offices, vendors, agencies, and external stakeholders. • Handover documentation and project timelines will be provided to support onboarding and continuity of work. • Any other roles and responsibilities as assigned by the Reporting Officer. QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field with at least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the education sector. • Strong understanding of digital marketing, including social media strategy, content creation, and analytics. • Familiar with social media management and analytics tools, website content management systems, email marketing platforms, and other generative AI martech tools. • Prior experience in IHL marketing, in particular, enrolment marketing, preferred. • Proficient in photography, videography and using design and video editing software to aid in content creation is a plus. • Good eye for design and detail-oriented in branding and visual execution. • Strong project management and stakeholder coordination abilities. • Creative, resourceful, and able to manage multiple timelines simultaneously. • Proactive, collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
