Motor Vehicle Mechanic

The Motor Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. The mechanic performs routine servicing, identifies faults, replaces defective parts, and carries out testing after repairs. Key Responsibilities• Perform vehicle inspections and diagnostic checks. • Carry out routine maintenance and servicing. • Repair and replace faulty mechanical and electrical components. • Conduct engine, transmission, brake, steering, suspension, and cooling system repairs. • Diagnose vehicle faults using diagnostic equipment. • Perform wheel alignment and tyre-related repairs when required. • Test-drive vehicles to verify repairs and performance. • Maintain accurate service and repair records. • Follow workplace safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines. • Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized. • Report major defects and recommend necessary repairs to supervisors or customers. • Assist in ordering and managing spare parts inventory. Requirements• Relevant experience in vehicle repair and maintenance. • Knowledge of automotive mechanical and electrical systems. • Ability to use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment. • Ability to read technical manuals and repair instructions. • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. • Valid driving licence preferred.
