IDC TECHNOLOGIES (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. is hiring for a Network Engineer internship — a 12-month, on-site Engineering Hardware role based in CECIL STREET, Singapore. It is an unpaid internship. It is open to university students, typically in Year 2–4. Applicants with experience in Troubleshooting, Network Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Collaborative Problem Solving, and Network Planning and Operations are a strong fit.
About this role
Responsible for Network related incident and change management • Responsible for the commission, de-commissioning and tech refresh of network devices • Facilitate in problem solving and collaboration • Manage the smooth delivery of network operations in accordance with stipulated Service Level Agreements • Provide firmware updates for network devices • Ensure network infrastructure complies with security policies • Prepare and maintain assets to ensure availability and update of capacity reports • Update process and procedural documents • Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Information Technology/Information Systems/Computer Science, Business IT or its equivalent • At least 5 years of experience in administration and implementation • Good knowledge of the following, but not limited to: o Firewall technologies (high availability, virtual firewall concept) o IP load balancer o Distribution and core switches o Router configuration (high availability) o LAN and WAN administration • Good understanding of a services business in a high-tech environment from a supplier, integrator or operator’s perspective • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, combined with ability to provide quick resolution to problems • Proficient in troubleshooting skills • Effective communication skills • Self-driven and ability to work independently
