Part-Time Care Associate, Home Care

We also offer other services for seniors such as active ageing centres, community support for vulnerable seniors, and a sheltered senior group home. In addition, we run a chain of dental clinics and a family medicine clinic. RESPONSIBILITIES You will need to: • Companionship and recreational activities: Chit chat and provide a listening ear to clients. Engage in recreational activities enjoyed by clients e.g. reading the newspaper, playing musical instruments, singing, playing simple card or board games etc. • Medical escort: Assist the senior with walking and boarding the transport vehicle and provide support during medical visits at the clinic/hospital premises. • Errands, grocery shopping and light cooking: Run errands or do grocery shopping with/without the client at markets/shops to buy food, and prepare simple home-cooked meals. • Transferring and positioning: Assist with transferring client from bed to commode, or wheelchair, or chair and back. • Simple exercises: Conduct simple exercises with the client to maintain their strength and muscle mass. • Showering and toileting: Provide assistance to the toilet and showering (if required). Full body wipe down and changing of diapers. QUALIFICATIONS You should: • Have passion in community services and service-oriented. • Have good interpersonal skills. It would be great if you: • Have Certification in Healthcare related courses. • Are able to speak one or more dialects, as you will be required to communicate with dialect-speaking clients. Rates differ depending on the number of hours you commit to, and whether the visit is on a weekday, weekend, or public holiday.
