About this role
As a Part-Time Head Trainer, you will lead and develop the instructor team across Singapore, ensuring the highest standards of teaching quality, client experience, and operational excellence. You will play a key role in recruitment, training, mentorship, scheduling, and performance management while supporting the continued growth of the STRONG Pilates brand. In addition to operational leadership, you will collaborate with HQ and key stakeholders on academy development, branding initiatives, instructor development pathways, and strategic projects that support the long-term growth of the business in Singapore. Key Responsibilities: Operational Leadership, Scheduling & Team Development (40%) Scheduling & Workforce Planning: • The Head Trainer shall oversee instructor scheduling across all Singapore locations. • Trainers are required to submit their availability for the following month's schedule by the 15th of each month. • The Head Trainer is responsible for releasing the following month's schedule by the first week of the preceding month. • Manage leave requests, shift swaps and class coverage arrangements. • Ensure all classes are adequately staffed while maintaining service standards. • Monitor instructor headcount requirements and future staffing needs. Recruitment & Onboarding: • Support recruitment and selection of instructors through astructured hiring process. • Conduct instructor recruitment exercises twice per financial year. • Review applications, screen resumes and conduct first-round interviews. • Present suitable candidates to the Business Operations Manager and Master Trainer for Academy consideration. • Support onboarding and integration of new instructors into the STRONG brand and culture. Team Development & Trainer Experience: • Develop and maintain mentorship and support systems for instructors. • Conduct regular check-ins with instructors to ensure a positive experience within the brand. • Gather, document and escalate relevant feedback to Operations, HQ, Sales and Marketing departments where appropriate. • Maintain strong communication and engagement across the teaching team. Leadership, Evaluation & Quality Assurance (25%) The Head Trainer is responsible for maintaining and improving teaching quality standards across the instructor team. Trainer Evaluations: • Conduct a minimum of four (4) instructor evaluations per month. • Evaluations shall be completed using the assessment form provided by the Master Trainer. • All completed evaluations shall be collated and maintained on OneDrive for ease of access and future reference. • Each evaluation must include a minimum of three (3) specific areas for improvement for the instructor. Development & Follow-Up: • Provide personal coaching sessions. • Deliver mentorship and development support. • Create action plans to address identified performance gaps. • Revisit previously identified improvement areas during the instructor's next assessment. Quality Assurance: • Conduct class observations and teaching reviews. • Monitor client feedback and identify opportunities for improvement. • Work with management to address performance concerns and recognise high-performing instructors. • Foster a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture. STRONG Academy & Instructor Development (15%) • Support the development and delivery of STRONG Academy programmes. • Assist in maintaining training materials, assessment standards and instructor certification processes. • Review training outcomes and recommend improvements to academy programmes. • Identify future mentors, trainers and leadership talent within the instructor team. • Ensure academy standards remain aligned with HQ expectations and brand requirements. Workshops & Continuing Education (10%) • The Head Trainer shall be responsible for the development and delivery of instructor workshops. • Conduct four (4) workshops annually for all STRONG Trainers. • Workshops shall be conducted quarterly (every three months). • Workshop content should focus on improving coaching effectiveness and teaching standards across key STRONG Pilates pillars, including: • ERG • Strength • Pilates • Maintain attendance records and workshop materials for future reference. • Gather trainer feedback and continuously improve workshop content. HQ Collaboration, Branding & Strategic Initiatives (5%) • Collaborate with HQ on instructor development, academy initiatives and operational improvements. • Support brand consistency across all instructor-facing activities. • Contribute to strategic projects that enhance instructor performance, client experience and business growth. • Provide insights on market trends, industry developments and competitor activity. • Participate in planning discussions, project meetings and business improvement initiatives when required. Additional Responsibility (5%) • Continue teaching classes and provide cover when operationally required. • Support marketing, media, community and promotional initiatives. • Participate in photoshoots, events and brand activations when requested. • Provide operational feedback and recommendations to management. • Undertake any other duties reasonably required to support the business.
