Plant Biotechnology Research Specialist (Gene Editing & Tissue Culture) #HDC

This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to experimental research projects involving plant tissue culture, gene editing, and transformation workflows. You will work closely with scientific teams to execute and refine laboratory protocols, ensuring high standards of accuracy, consistency, and research integrity across ongoing studies. Key Responsibilities: • Execute plant biotechnology experiments in accordance with established research protocols and project requirements • Support development and optimisation of gene editing and plant transformation pipelines, including protocol refinement where needed • Manage multiple concurrent laboratory tasks across different stages of research workflows • Assist in preparation, processing, and organisation of biological samples for downstream analysis and sequencing • Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date laboratory records and documentation • Support general laboratory upkeep, including equipment maintenance, reagent preparation, and inventory management • Collaborate with research team members including scientists, postdoctoral researchers, and students to ensure smooth project execution • Adapt to evolving experimental needs, including protocol adjustments, equipment updates, and changes in research direction Requirements: • Degree in Plant Biotechnology, Biomedical Science, Life Sciences, or related discipline, with relevant laboratory experience • Strong foundation in molecular biology techniques and laboratory best practices • Experience handling solution preparation, measurements, and buffer formulation with precision • Familiarity with plant tissue culture and molecular biology workflows • Ability to follow, interpret, and refine scientific protocols with consistency and accuracy • Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments such as PCR/qPCR systems, centrifuges, gel electrophoresis setups, fluorescence microscopy, and related equipment • Meticulous, organised, and able to maintain high standards of experimental documentation If you are passionate about plant biotechnology research and contributing to meaningful scientific advancements, we welcome your application.
