Postdoctoral Researcher – Labor Market Dynamics and AI in the Knowledge Economy

DEPARTMENT: Economics/Finance LOCATION: INSEAD Asia Campus CONTRACT: Full-Time, 1-year renewable REFERENCE: PDLF26SG Professors Lily Fang and Pushan Dutt invite applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher to join INSEAD, based in the Singapore campus, starting as soon as possible. The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to a cutting-edge research agenda at the intersection of labor economics, development economics, and the economics of artificial intelligence. The research focuses on labor market dynamics in the knowledge economy, with particular attention to human capital flows, occupational change, and the impact of AI on skills, productivity, and employment outcomes. The position is embedded in INSEAD’s globally connected research ecosystem and offers extensive opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and professional development across campuses and partner institutions. Role and Responsibilities The Postdoctoral Researcher will: • Provide advanced research support through programming, data analysis, and data visualization • Work with large-scale datasets, including Revelio/Lightcast, and apply methods such as web scraping and textual analysis • Apply modern econometric techniques to support ongoing and new research projects • Devote part of their time to developing, advancing, and publishing their own research agenda • Actively engage with the broader economics research community at INSEAD across campuses and at partner institutions, including NUS, Collège de France, and Sciences Po Qualifications Applicants must meet the following criteria: • A completed PhD in Economics, Finance, or a closely related social science discipline by the start date • Demonstrated experience working with large datasets and strong quantitative skills • Strong programming proficiency in Stata and Python • An excellent academic record and evidence of research potential • Strong organizational skills and excellent written and oral communication abilities • A genuine enthusiasm for academic research and interest in pursuing a research-oriented academic career Application Process To be considered for the position, applicants should submit: 1.
