About this role
1. About Innovation Central Singapore Innovation Central Singapore (ICSG), a collaboration led by Cisco with Curtin Singapore, part of the National Industry Innovation Network, brings together industry, researchers, students, and partners to co-create practical, market-ready solutions to real customer challenges. Operating mainly in Singapore with strong ties to Australia, ICSG is a fast-paced environment where multiple initiatives run concurrently, and delivery discipline is essential to success. 2. Overview and Objective of the Role The Project Manager plays a critical delivery assurance role within ICSG, working closely alongside the ICSG Director. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that the centre’s portfolio of initiatives is planned, coordinated, and delivered effectively. This role is the operational backbone of ICSG. It translates strategic intent and customer commitments into executable plans, maintains visibility across interdependent initiatives, and ensures risks, dependencies, and delivery issues are identified early and managed proactively. 3. Key Relationships You will work day-to-day with the ICSG Director, Innovation Central Singapore members, project and initiative leads, and the wider Innovation Central Network teams across Singapore and Australia and members of the National Industry Innovation Network. The role requires strong collaboration across functions and geographies, with a focus on enabling others to deliver. 4. Key Result Areas The Project Manager’s responsibilities include: • Coordinate all aspects of ICSG projects and initiatives to ensure alignment with agreed goals, timelines, and delivery commitments. • Develop and maintain an integrated master project plan across the centre, including key milestones, dependencies, and critical paths. • Monitor progress across concurrent initiatives, proactively identifying delivery risks, constraints, and cross-functional impacts. • Facilitate resolution of delivery issues by working with initiative leads to remove obstacles and improve the likelihood of successful outcomes. • Understand and manage sequencing and prioritisation of initiatives to ensure optimal use of resources and sustained progress. • Perform risk assessment across projects and teams, ensuring risks are visible, understood, and actively managed. • Aggregate, synthesise, and communicate clear, accurate program and project information to support effective decision-making by the Director and leadership. • Support Program Managers and initiative leads with appropriate project management methodologies, tools, processes, and templates. • Act as a centre-level project management expert, mentoring others in delivery discipline, planning, and execution practices. In this role, success is measured by delivery confidence. You enable the ICSG Director to focus on strategy, stakeholders, and growth by ensuring execution issues are anticipated rather than reacted to. You provide clarity in environments with ambiguity, helping teams make informed trade-offs while protecting overall delivery outcomes. 5. Qualifications and Selection Criteria Essential • 10+ years’ experience in business operations and project or program management. • Deep understanding of the end-to-end project and program lifecycle. • Demonstrated experience delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives. • Proven ability to operate effectively with ambiguity and incomplete information, while managing delivery risk. • Experience working across multiple industry verticals such as healthcare, transport, smart cities or Smart Nation and Digital Government aligned initiatives, and energy. • Strong working knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, with experience applying agile and DevOps approaches where appropriate. • Exceptional stakeholder, communication, and change management skills, with the ability to influence across functions including sales, finance, HR, marketing, and operations. • Experience operating in innovative, fast-moving environments. Desired • Clear, concise communication skills across written, verbal, and presentation formats. • Strong organisational discipline with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently. • Executive-level judgement in framing delivery status, risks, and options. • High personal accountability, energy, and follow-through. • Comfortable operating under pressure while maintaining structure and focus. • Previous experience in a tertiary environment.
