Role Overview The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for providingpart-time quantity surveying support for construction site projects, with aminimum commitment of 8 hours per week. Work may be performed at the office orsite, with flexible scheduling by mutual arrangement. The role focuses oncontract administration, cost control and claims management to support thetimely and accurate certification of project works, and is required to commenceimmediately. The role works closely with the project team, consultants, main contractor and subcontractors to prepare and submit progress claims, verify and prepare variation orders, and review subcontractors' claims and scopes of work in accordance with contract requirements and project records. Key Responsibilities Progress Claims & Contract Administration · Prepare, evaluate and submit monthly progress claims in a timely manner. · Measure work done on site and verify quantities against contract documents, drawings and site records. · Compile supporting documents for claims, including site progress records, measurement sheets and relevant correspondence. · Liaise with the project team and consultants on claim submissions, clarifications and certifications. Variation Orders · Verify site instructions, additional works and omitted works for variation order preparation. · Prepare cost estimates, breakdowns and supporting documentation for variation claims and submissions. · Maintain proper records of variations, including status tracking, approvals and supporting correspondence. · Work with site and project teams to verify the extent and value of variation works before submission. Subcontractor Claims & Scope Review · Review subcontractors' claims for accuracy, completeness and compliance with agreed terms and project progress. · Assess subcontractors' scopes of work against subcontract documents, drawings and site requirements. · Verify measurements, work done and supporting documents before recommending payment or raising queries. · Coordinate with site personnel and subcontractors to resolve discrepancies in claims, quantities and scope interpretation. Documentation & Reporting · Maintain proper records of claims, variation orders ,payment responses and contractual correspondence. · Prepare periodic cost and claims status updates for management review. · Ensure project documentation is organised and updated for audit, verification and final account purposes. Part-Time Coordination Support · Commit to a minimum of 8 hours per week in this part-time role, to be carried out at the office or site. · Workday is flexible and may be arranged based on project needs and mutual agreement. · Provide remote coordination and follow-up with the project team between office or site engagements. · Support ad hoc quantity surveying and contract administration matters as assigned. Requirements· Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management or a related discipline. · At least 3 years of relevant experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the construction industry in Singapore. · Hands-on experience in preparing progress claims, administering variation orders, and reviewing subcontractors' claims and scopes of work for construction projects. · Able to read and interpret drawings, contract documents and site records. · Good understanding of construction contracts, measurements and cost documentation. · Strong attention to detail, organisation and coordination skills. · Proficient in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying documentation. · Available to start work immediately. · Able to work independently in a part-time capacity with a minimum commitment of 8 hours per week, with flexible workday arrangement at the office or site.
