We are looking for a proactive and highly adaptable Relevant Legal Trainee (RLT) to join our multi-disciplinary team. This position is ideal for a law graduate who thrives on variety and is eager to gain hands-on experience across Criminal, Family, and Civil litigation under the supervision of experienced mentors. As an "all-rounder" trainee, you will be deeply integrated into our daily operations, moving beyond mere research to play an active role in case strategy and client management. Learning Opportunities & Responsibilities Case Preparation: Assist in the end-to-end management of files, from initial client intake to the preparation of trial bundles. Legal Research & Drafting: Conduct in-depth research on complex legal points and draft various documents, including: Criminal: Representations to AGC, mitigation pleas, and research on sentencing benchmarks. Family: Statements of Claim, Parenting Plans, and Affidavits of Assets & Means. Civil: Writs of Summons, Pleadings, and Interrogatories. Court Attendance: Shadow senior counsel during mentions, chamber hearings, and trials in the State Courts and Family Justice Courts. Client Interaction: Participate in client consultations to develop interviewing skills and learn how to manage sensitive legal issues with professionalism. Administrative Excellence: Assist in maintaining organized case files and ensuring compliance with court timelines and filing requirements. Requirements Qualifications: A qualified person under the Legal Profession Act, seeking to fulfill their Relevant Legal Training requirements. Interest Profile: A genuine desire to be a generalist. You should be equally interested in the technicalities of civil procedure, the advocacy of criminal law, and the human element of family law. Core Competencies Strong analytical and legal writing skills. High level of initiative and a "can-do" attitude. Proficiency in legal research databases (e.g., LawNet). Language: Excellent command of English (written and spoken). Proficiency in a second language is a significant advantage for client communication.
