POSITION OVERVIEW : Senior Data Engineer POSITION GENERAL DUTIES AND TASKS : As a Senior Data Engineer, you areresponsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable data store solutions that support both operational and strategicbusiness needs. The role demands strong technical expertise, a proactivemindset, and a commitment to continuousimprovement, compliance, and innovationin data engineering practices. · Design, develop, and implement data storesolutions to support operational and business needs. · Build and maintain robust ETL pipelines usingTalend and implement automated deployment workflows for these ETL processes with CI/CD tools. · Develop, optimize, and tune Oracle PL/SQL queries,procedures, and packages to ensure high performance and reliability. · Ensure data quality, integrity, and securityacross all data platforms. · Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data workflowand performance issues proactively. · Translate business requirements into effectivetechnical solutions, ensuring alignment throughout the project lifecycle. · Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentationfor technical designs, data flows, and operational procedures. · Perform thorough testing to guarantee solutionreliability and data integrity. · Collaborate with project managers, businessanalysts, and cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet business goals and stakeholder expectations. · Support implementation activities and providepost-launch support to ensure smooth operations. · Conduct system performance tests and implementimprovements as needed. · Work closely with the delivery team to deliversystems according to specifications, tracking assigned tasks to meet project schedules and quality standards. · Take ownership of assigned deliverables,proactively identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions. Demonstrate initiative in addressing issues, optimizingprocesses, and proposing innovations to enhance data engineering practices. · Takes accountability in considering business andregulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks. · Maintains awareness of industry trends onregulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company. · Highlights any potential concerns /risks andproactively shares best risk management practices. We are looking for people who · Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in TalendETL development. · At least 5 years of end-to-end experiencedesigning, building, and implementing data store/data marts/data warehouses. · Strong proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL development,including performance tuning and optimization. · Strong knowledge of key Oracle performancefeatures such as query optimizer, execution plans, and indexes. · Experience working with Oracle Autonomous Database(ADB) is preferred. · Solid understanding of data modelling, datagovernance, and data integration best practices. · Excellent technical skills in ETL tools forintegration with Oracle and other RDBMS databases. · Good technical skills in UNIX shell scripting andscheduling. · Have experience working in Agile environments withdistributed, cross-functional teams. · Ability to evaluate, understand, and implementdetailed business, functional, and non-functional technical requirements. · Experience in the financial services industry isan advantage. · Excellent problem-solving skills, attention todetail, and the ability to approach challenges from multiple perspectives. · Strong communication and collaboration abilities. · Independent team member capable of making soundjudgment calls in fast-changing or ambiguous environments. · High level of integrity, takes accountability ofwork and good attitude over teamwork. · Takes initiative to improve current state ofthings and adaptable to embrace new changes.
