Within the wider GTS business, our Energy & Materials Industrysales network will support the bespoke trade needs of clients in variouscommodity-related sectors. The candidate will have a multi-year track record instructuring large complex deals, payables, receivables, including highlycomplex trade loan structures using risk mitigation instruments. Asia-Pacificis an integral part of the Global E&M franchise in GTS and the candidateshall help drive the regional strategy and execution for select E&M franchiseclients and targets in close collaboration with colleagues globally. Principal Responsibilities • Originate new business opportunities and grow existing relationships with clients in the commodities sector including commodity traders, processors or producers that fit the Bank’s target client profile. • Build relationships with key decision makers at clients like Treasurer, CFO, Trade Finance Heads etc. • Work with clients organized as regional treasury centers in Singapore by partnering with Global and Regional coverage teams in providing solutions and structures that meet the clients’ trade and working capital needs for the region. • Leverage HSBC’s regional footprint and infrastructure to onboard NTT/NTB clients and grow existing client business, utilising the Singapore franchise as a hub to drive outbound relationships across Asia and capture inbound flows into Singapore. • Proactively work with Sales Managers across various markets to identify core & structured trade finance opportunities, lead RFPs & client pitches and recommending bespoke trade finance solutions that meet client objectives. • Monitor global commodity markets and track trends to identify opportunities and provide insights to clients and internal stakeholders. • Devise client plans and strategies to identify trade sales opportunities, as well as increasing revenue for existing ones to achieve asset growth, sales or revenue targets. • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including relationship managers & product specialists to maximise cross-selling opportunities for the bank. • Work with Client Implementation Services in a timely fashion to ensure an efficient execution plan for complex deals. • Develop and drive changes and improvements to operating models, procedures and practices based on subject matter expertise and understanding of HSBC and market best practice. • Participating in events, initiatives, and activities to develop business opportunities. • Protecting the bank's reputation and ensuring an acceptable risk profile whilst deepening your understanding of the client through credit and customer due diligence reviews • Support achievement of the HSBC vision, values, goals and culture in personal behaviour, actions and decision making • Manage & Partner with Relationship Managers on all credit risk matters including credit assessment/ commitment/returns. • Assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions and showcase due consideration of bank’s reputation and objectives. • Communicate and adhere to HSBC policy and procedures in order to ensure good operational, financial and, policy and procedural compliance and early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise. Requirements: • University degree holder (Finance, Business or related discipline) with experience in trade finance/ front line roles. • Good client network and track record of handling clients in commodity sector. Proven Track record of leading trade finance transactions including structured commodity transactions like prepayments, receivables finance, inventory finance etc for large global clients. • Significant solution providing or structuring experience with strong understanding of commodity trade finance & working capital management. • Strong financial and analytical skills with good problem analysis (identifying problems, recognizing important information, establishing connections and providing solutions) • Recognized as a Trade Finance specialist with ability to display in depth knowledge of the commodities markets and understand the risk profile of relevant products and services, and act as the lead for opportunities with clients and internal stakeholder. • Ability to interact with customers at all levels. • Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • A collaborative team player, who can work on a self-directed basis, and balance multiple diverse priorities and stakeholders. • Strong independent contributor, who is comfortable working on multiple assignments, where the teams will often be distributed across the globe and culturally diverse. • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and the ability to deliver compelling presentations. • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word and MS Power Point and use of market platforms like Bloomberg SCF functions
