Software Consultant

Key Responsibilities• Work closely with business stakeholders to analyze requirements and translate them into functional and technical application designs. • Configure, customize, and integrate enterprise applications to align with business processes. • Provide application support and troubleshooting, ensuring system stability and minimal downtime. • Conduct user training sessions and prepare comprehensive technical and user documentation. • Participate in project planning, implementation, and post-go-live reviews. • Assess existing applications and recommend enhancements or replacements to improve efficiency and performance. • Ensure applications comply with organizational standards, security policies, and best practices. • Act as the primary liaison with vendors and third-party service providers for application-related activities. • Stay updated on emerging technologies and application trends and recommend innovative solutions where applicable. Application & Enterprise Platforms• Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise platform such as SAP, Oracle Applications, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or Salesforce. Programming & Scripting• Working knowledge of Java, Python, SQL, or similar programming/scripting languages. Application Integration• Strong understanding of API design, middleware platforms, and integration tools such as MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, or Tibco. Database Management• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Oracle DB. • Ability to perform basic data modelling, query optimisation, and performance tuning. Cloud & Hosting• Familiarity with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including application hosting and cloud-based integrations. System Design & Architecture• Understanding of microservices architecture, SOA, and distributed systems. Testing & Deployment• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and automation tools such as Jenkins, Selenium, or Appium. Business Process & Analytics• Ability to map application capabilities to business workflows in areas such as finance, supply chain, or CRM. • Exposure to data analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker. Application Security• Knowledge of SSO, OAuth, SAML, and application security best practices. Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. • 5–8 years of experience in application consulting, application support, or system implementation roles. • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Relevant certifications (e.g., Salesforce Certified Consultant, SAP Certified Application Associate) are an advantage. Preferred Attributes• Proven experience delivering and supporting enterprise application implementations. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-project environment. • Experience working in Agile or Scrum delivery models. • Strong client-facing skills with a customer-focused approach.
