About this role
About the Role: You will be embedded in a vertical squad alongside a PM/PMO and Tech Lead, owning the translation of partner and product requirements into clear, actionable specifications for engineering. You will be technically fluent enough to document both business and technical flows, coordinate change governance, and work credibly alongside developers and architects. You will also be an early adopter of AI tools that are reshaping how BA work gets done — using them to accelerate delivery without compromising quality. Key Responsibilities: • Engage with Product Owners, partners and internal stakeholders to elicit, document and validate business and functional requirements • Translate requirements into well-structured user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows and functional specifications • Produce both business flow diagrams and technical flow diagrams — including API interaction flows & specs, system integration maps and data flow documentation — to a standard that engineering and architecture teams can work directly from- Maintain a clear and prioritised backlog in collaboration with the PM/PMO and Product Owner • Identify gaps, dependencies and edge cases early — raising risks before they become delivery issues • Coordinate impact assessments, rollback plans and implementation schedules • Act as the point of accountability for change governance artefacts within the squad, maintaining audit trails and ensuring compliance with change management processes • Work closely with the PMO and Tech Lead and engineering teams to ensure requirements are understood and implementable • Support UAT — defining test scenarios, coordinating testing activities and validating outcomes against acceptance criteria • Contribute to sprint planning, refinement and retrospectives as an active member of the delivery squad AI-Assisted BA Practice: • Actively use AI tools to accelerate core BA tasks — including user story generation, requirements documentation, acceptance criteria drafting, flow diagram creation and test scenario development • Maintain a critical eye — reviewing and refining AI-generated outputs to ensure accuracy, completeness and fitness for purpose • Contribute to the team's evolving AI SDLC practices by sharing what works, flagging what doesn't and helping build a better baseline for the team over time- Bring a continuous improvement mindset to how BA work is done in an AI-enabled environment Stakeholder Engagement: • Build effective working relationships with partner-side contacts where required, supporting requirements gathering across geographies • Communicate clearly and confidently across technical and non-technical audiences Experience: • 6 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a digital or technology delivery environment • Hands-on experience writing user stories, functional specifications and acceptance criteria in an agile context • Demonstrable experience producing both business process flows and technical flow diagrams — including API flows, system integration diagrams and data flows • Experience working with APIs — able to read and document API contracts, understand request/response structures and map integration touch points accurately • Experience with change governance processes, including preparation and submission • Hands on experience with BMAD or AI development methodology • Experience using AI tools like Claude via Terminal as part of delivery • Experience working in cross-functional squads with developers, QA and product stakeholders • Exposure to financial services, insurance or regulated industry an advantage Tools • Jira — backlog management, story writing and sprint tracking • Confluence — requirements documentation and team knowledge management- Figma — ability to work with design files, annotate flows and collaborate with designers on product specifications • Claude Code (terminal) — required; comfortable running AI-assisted workflows from the command line • AI productivity tools (e.g. Claude, GitHub Copilot or similar) — either actively using or keen to adopt Skills & Attributes: • Technically fluent — comfortable in conversations with developers and architects, and able to produce artefacts that bridge business intent and technical implementation • Strong analytical thinking — able to break down complexity into clear, structured requirements • Detail-oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture • Process-minded — understands the importance of governance and change management in a regulated environment • Naturally curious and inquisitive, adopting AI across professional and personal • Already using or actively curious about AI tools to enhance personal productivity and output quality • Open to evolving the BA craft — understands that AI will change how this work gets done and is energised rather than threatened by that • Strong written communication — clear, concise, structured • Collaborative team player who works well in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment
