Student Care Officer (5 Months | Up to $29/hr)

Job Summary Provide front-line emotional and behavioural support to students through one-on-one engagement, crisis intervention, and well-being monitoring, while maintaining accurate records and collaborating with school staff and external stakeholders. Also supports preventive programmes and promotes positive coping, resilience, and student well-being. Responsibilities • Deliver front-line emotional support to students experiencing anxiety or emotional overwhelm to stabilize their well-being during crises • Build trusting, confidential relationships to encourage students to share concerns openly and safely • Identify and monitor students vulnerable to mental health, social, or family-related risks, tracking changes in behaviour, attendance, and well-being • Collaborate closely with School Counsellors and Discipline Master to coordinate support and ensure consistent responses to student needs • Plan, conduct, or assist with Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and Peer Support initiatives to enable early intervention and prevent escalation of behavioural or emotional issues • Communicate sensitively with parents/guardians about student well-being and behavioural concerns, coordinating with external agencies such as social services and mental health professionals when additional support is needed • Maintain accurate records of student interactions, well-being status, and interventions Required competencies and certifications • Diploma in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related field • Experience working with children in Primary School, Student Care, or enrichment settings • Exposure to counselling, mentoring, or guiding students with social-emotional needs Other Information • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 7.15am - 2.45pm (1 hour lunch break) • Contract duration: 5 months • Up to $29/hour Yana Norzamry | Personnel Registration No: R26160959 | EA Licence No.91C2918
