Job Summary: At Mavi Turkish Restaurant & Grill, we are dedicated to delivering an authentic and warm Turkish dining experience. We are looking for a vibrant and hospitable Service Crew Member to join our family. You will be an ambassador of our culture, playing a pivotal role in creating a memorable journey for our guests through genuine hospitality, expert knowledge of our cuisine, and impeccable service from the moment they arrive until their farewell. Key Responsibilities & Duties: 1. Embody Turkish Hospitality: • Greet all guests with the warm, sincere hospitality Mavi is known for, making them feel like honored guests in our home. • Proactively assist guests with seating, ensuring their comfort and accommodating special requests. • Present menus and set the stage for the experience by explaining our concept and the story behind Mavi Turkish Restaurant & Grill. 2. Mastery of Turkish and Mediterrenean Cuisine & Order Taking: • Possess in-depth knowledge of our menu, including Meze, Grills (Kebabs), and traditional dishes, to confidently guide guests. • Be able to describe ingredients, preparation methods (e.g., charcoal grill), and the cultural background of our dishes. • Actively recommend popular or authentic Turkish items and appropriate beverage pairings (e.g., Ayran with kebabs, Turkish tea/coffee). • Take orders accurately and efficiently, paying special attention to dietary restrictions and allergies, and communicate them clearly to the kitchen. 3. Adherence to Mavi Service Standards: • Follow the refined sequence of service outlined in the Mavi SOP, ensuring a seamless and elegant flow. • Set up tables to reflect our restaurant's policy, which may include traditional Turkish touches in the table setting. • Maintain a polished and professional appearance that reflects the ambiance of our grill. 4. Dining Room & Table Maintenance: • Ensure the dining area and grill station view are always pristine and inviting. • Clear tables throughout the meal discreetly and efficiently, respecting the pace of the guests' experience. • Reset tables promptly after guests depart, preparing them for the next party with attention to detail. 5. Cleanliness & Sanitation: • Transport all soiled dishes to the kitchen, depositing them carefully at the Steward area. • Promptly and safely clean any spillage to maintain a pristine and safe environment. • Conduct regular checks of restrooms and handwashing areas, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and reflect the high standards of Mavi. Report any issues immediately. • Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils as needed. • Maintain overall cleanliness of the dining area, kitchen, and back-of-house spaces. • Perform thorough sweeping and mopping of floors at the start and end of each shift. • Ensure all work areas are clean, sanitized, and ready for service 6. Operational Support & Teamwork: • Assist the Manager and Chef in monitoring stock levels of front-of-house supplies, especially key items like fresh bread, Turkish tea, and coffee. • Provide support to the kitchen team by assisting with washing dishes and kitchen tools during peak hours or as required, demonstrating a true team spirit. • Collaborate effectively with all team members to ensure the authentic Mavi experience is delivered consistently. • Assist in preparing traditional Turkish coffee, tea, and light appetisers (meze). Qualifications & Skills: • Experience: Previous experience in a restaurant is a plus, but a positive attitude and a passion for service are most important. We will provide training on Turkish cuisine and our standards. • Cultural Enthusiasm: A genuine interest in Turkish culture, food, and the art of hospitality is highly desirable. • Customer-Focused: A warm, engaging, and gracious personality with a genuine desire to make people happy. • Team Player: Ability to work harmoniously in a fast-paced, family-like environment. • Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. • Physical Stamina: Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods and carry trays.
