Deutsche Bank Singapore Internship Guide
Deutsche Bank Singapore operates as the German bank's Asia Pacific hub for Corporate Bank, Investment Bank, and a growing private banking franchise. The Internship Programme is smaller than US bulge bracket peers but offers exceptional technical training and a high intern-to-analyst conversion rate. This guide covers all programmes, pay, and tips.
Deutsche Bank Singapore: Internship Guide
Deutsche Bank established its Singapore office in 1971 and today the city functions as DB's Asia Pacific regional headquarters for several divisions, including the Corporate Bank (transaction banking) and the Investment Bank (origination, sales & trading). The bank also runs a significant technology centre, DB Tech Innovation Center, which serves as a development hub for the firm's global platforms. For students, Deutsche Bank's smaller cohort size means more one-on-one mentorship and faster responsibility.
Key Internship Programmes

Corporate Bank Internship Programme — Ten weeks, June–August. Covers Cash Management, Trade Finance & Lending, and Securities Services.
Technology Internship Programme — Roles across DB's Tech Innovation Center in software engineering, data science, and cloud engineering.

Tips to Get Selected
- Apply for the Corporate Bank track if IBD is your backup. Deutsche Bank's Corporate Bank is genuinely excellent in transaction banking and is less oversubscribed than the Investment Bank. Many Corporate Bank interns transition to IBD in full-time hiring.
- Know DB's APAC fixed income franchise. Deutsche Bank is particularly strong in ASEAN debt capital markets and FX. Reference specific bond issuances or currency hedging transactions the bank has led.
- Prepare for the HORIZON event. If you qualify, applying for the Spring event substantially improves your summer odds.
- Be ready for technical depth. DB's superday interviewers are known for pushing deeper on financial concepts than some peers. Prepare to walk through a full DCF from memory for IBD.
- Show interest in technology within banking. DB's DB Tech Innovation Center is a genuine priority for the firm. Even in banking roles, showing curiosity about how technology is transforming the front office is valued.
What the Internship Is Like
Deutsche Bank Singapore's smaller cohort (typically fifteen to thirty interns per cycle across all divisions) creates a high-touch experience. Interns often report having direct access to Managing Directors and senior traders within the first few weeks. The firm runs a structured programme with weekly education sessions and an end-of-programme presentation.
IBD interns work on live mandates — Deutsche Bank's ASEAN franchise is active in infrastructure financing, commodity-linked transactions, and ASEAN M&A. Markets interns work closely with desk heads and may be asked to present a trade idea at a morning meeting.
The culture at DB Singapore is described as less hierarchical than some US peers, with a European directness that interns appreciate. Feedback is given directly and early.
Return Offers & Full-Time Conversion
Deutsche Bank Singapore converts approximately 60–70% of interns. Given the smaller cohort, each intern's performance is highly visible to senior management, which means strong performers almost always receive offers. Full-time Analysts start in August of the following year.
