Prudential Singapore Internship Guide
Prudential Singapore is one of the country's largest life insurers, with a growing digital health and wellness business alongside its traditional insurance and wealth management operations. Internships span actuarial science, data analytics, product development, digital technology, and commercial functions — making it one of the best insurance sector entry points for Singapore students.
Prudential Singapore: Internship Guide
Prudential plc has operated in Singapore since 1931 and today Prudential Singapore is one of the country's largest life insurance companies by new business premiums. The Singapore operations have been a digital transformation leader within the broader Prudential Asia group, launching Pulse (a digital health app with over 45 million downloads), partnering with fintech players, and building data-driven underwriting capabilities. Prudential's Singapore office also houses the regional digital and data hub for Prudential's Southeast Asia operations. For students, this creates an unusual internship environment: traditional insurance expertise combined with genuine digital innovation.

Tips to Get Selected
- For actuarial roles, progress in the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) or Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams is a strong signal. Passing at least CT1/CM1 and CT3/CS1 before applying for a summer internship demonstrates commitment.
- Know Prudential's digital health strategy. Pulse is Prudential's most distinctive competitive investment — a super-app combining health monitoring, insurance, and wellness services. Being able to discuss how Pulse creates value for Prudential's insurance business is impressive.
- Research the Singapore life insurance market. Know the main players (Prudential, AIA, Great Eastern, NTUC Income), the role of the Life Insurance Association (LIA Singapore), and current trends (critical illness insurance, investment-linked plans, health insurance reform under MediShield Life).
- For data science, insurance-specific ML applications (loss ratio prediction, customer lifetime value, fraud claims detection) are the most relevant preparation. Show any project that involves prediction on tabular data.
- Apply for actuarial and data roles in December. These tracks are highly competitive at summer but have lower applications in December. December intern experience is equally valued by the actuarial team.
What the Internship Is Like
Prudential Singapore internships are structured with formal onboarding, mentor assignments, and defined project deliverables. Actuarial interns work on real product pricing or reserving models under qualified actuary supervision. Data science interns use real customer and claims data to build predictive models. Digital technology interns contribute to Pulse or the customer digital platform.
The culture at Prudential Singapore is professional, inclusive, and increasingly digital-first. The firm has active employee networks and a strong learning culture. Leaders from the regional digital hub are often involved in intern projects, providing good visibility.
Work hours are reasonable: 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on average.
Return Offers & Full-Time Conversion
Prudential Singapore converts approximately 40–55% of interns. Full-time Graduate Analyst roles are available across actuarial, data, technology, and commercial functions. Actuarial graduates receive continued sponsorship for exam completion as part of their graduate development package.
