Singtel is Singapore's largest telecommunications and technology company, with operations spanning 21 countries and businesses in mobile, broadband, enterprise ICT, digital media, and cybersecurity. The Singtel Internship Programme offers placements across technology, business, and corporate functions, with exposure to Singapore's most critical digital infrastructure.
Singtel: Internship Guide
Singapore Telecommunications Limited (Singtel) was founded in 1879 and today is Singapore's largest listed company by market capitalisation. Singtel operates Singapore's dominant mobile and broadband network and has extensive regional operations through associates Airtel (India), Optus (Australia), and Globe (Philippines), among others. Beyond telecommunications, Singtel has expanded aggressively into enterprise cybersecurity (NCS, Trustwave), digital media (HOOQ legacy, Singtel TV), and cloud infrastructure. For students, Singtel offers an internship at the intersection of telecommunications infrastructure, enterprise technology, and digital transformation.
Key Internship Programmes

Tips to Get Selected
- Apply separately to Singtel and NCS. NCS and Singtel have separate recruiting pipelines. Many students apply only to Singtel Group and miss NCS, which has significantly more technology intern spots.
- Know Singtel's 5G enterprise strategy. Singtel launched Singapore's 5G standalone network and is actively developing enterprise 5G use cases. Showing knowledge of specific 5G applications (industrial IoT, remote surgery, autonomous logistics) relevant to Singapore is a strong signal.
- For NCS cybersecurity, Singapore's cybersecurity sector is highly active. NCS holds major government cybersecurity contracts. Demonstrating knowledge of the CSA Singapore cybersecurity landscape, MAS TRM guidelines, or specific threat actors targeting ASEAN is valuable.
- Highlight any cloud or DevOps skills. NCS is one of the primary cloud migration service providers for Singapore government agencies. AWS, Azure, and GCP experience — even at foundational level — is immediately applicable.
- Attend Singtel career fairs. Singtel actively recruits at NUS, NTU, and SMU career fairs. Face-to-face interactions at booths often accelerate callback timelines.
What the Internship Is Like
Singtel and NCS internships are well-structured with formal onboarding, buddy assignments, and defined project deliverables. NCS interns typically join project squads working on real government or enterprise IT delivery. The work is production-grade and the clients are real (Singapore government agencies, MNCs, and telecoms operators).
Singtel Group internships (non-NCS) tend to have more business-oriented projects — market analysis, strategy decks, product roadmaps — depending on the division. Sinnovate interns work in a more entrepreneurial environment with 5G and IoT proof-of-concept pilots.
Culture at both Singtel and NCS is professional, stable, and structured. The companies have strong tenure cultures — many employees have been there for ten or more years — which means knowledge depth is high but change may feel slower than a startup.
Return Offers & Full-Time Conversion
Singtel and NCS collectively convert approximately 40–55% of interns. Full-time roles are available at both entities. NCS offers structured graduate programmes with professional certification support. For Singtel Group, strong interns are considered for the Singtel Management Associate Programme.
