About this role
- 1 year contract - Up to $4k/ $5k (depends on experience) - Mon - Fri, 8am - 5.30pm - Changi Naval Base (shuttle service provided) Responsibilities: As an Assistant Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the operational readiness and maintenance of naval platforms. Working closely with fellow engineers, Service Delivery Managers, and Project Managers, you will support the upkeep of onboard systems through hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, refurbishment, and equipment installation across vessels, workshops, and shipyards. You will have opportunities to be short-listed for participation in short-term overseas attachment and training courses. Key Responsibilities: • Assist the Superintendent in maintaining naval systems at high availability and readiness. • Perform maintenance tasks onboard vessels, in workshops, and at shipyards. • Troubleshoot system defects and perform corrective actions. • Carry out installation and removal of equipment and systems. • Refurbish electronic units and assemblies to restore functionality. Period: • 1 year contract Working Hours: • Mon - Fri, 8am - 5.30pm Salary: • Up to $4k/ $5k (depends on experience) Location: • Changi Naval Base (shuttle service provided to and from Changi Naval Base) (Morning pick up point at Simei MRT stn and Evening drop off point at Tanah Merah MRT Stn) Requirements: • NITEC or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related fields). • Naval-related maintenance training certifications are advantageous. • Solid working knowledge of underwater, mechanical, electronics, and electrical systems on commercial and military vessels. • Familiarity with maintenance regimes and basic troubleshooting down to card level. • Strong team player with the ability to work independently when required. • Capable of handling challenging customer interactions professionally. • Willingness to work outdoors and onboard naval platforms. • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. • Willing to sail for up to a week when required. • Singaporean only due to security clearance requirements.
