Database Engineer

• Database Engineer • Cloud Environment • DB2, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake Job Scope: • Administer and maintain databases including DB2, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Snowflake. • Support OLTP/OLAP environments and perform routine monitoring and health checks. • Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and execution plan analysis. • Manage backup, recovery, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) processes. • Troubleshoot incidents, resolve database issues, and conduct root cause analysis (RCA). • Support cloud database environments (AWS RDS, EC2, Snowflake) and implement security and scalability best practices. • Maintain monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Grafana, Splunk) and develop automation scripts where applicable. • Support database releases, schema updates, and deployments. • Maintain documentation, SOPs, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements: • Possess a Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. • Minimum 3 years of hands-on database administration/engineering experience. • Experience with DB2, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and cloud platforms (AWS RDS/EC2, Snowflake). • Strong SQL scripting, stored procedures, and query optimization skills. • Good understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, replication, and HA/DR concepts. • Experience with monitoring tools (Grafana, Splunk) is an advantage. • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills. • Self-driven team player willing to support after-hours maintenance and incident activities.
