We are hiring under Recruit Express headcount and details of this position are: Job Title: Contract Desktop Support Engineer Location: Choa Chu Kang area Working hours: 8.30am – 5.30pm or 9am to 6pm, Mon to Fri. Will need to work up to around 5 Saturdays a year (OT will be paid) for events support. Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and customer-oriented Desktop Engineer to provide onsite IT support services. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-user computing devices, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting IT infrastructure, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities End-User Support • Provide onsite and remote technical support to end users. • Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, laptop, printer, and peripheral issues. • Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems and business applications. • Support Microsoft Office 365 applications and services. • Handle user account administration, password resets, and access-related requests. • Assist users with email, network connectivity, and VPN issues. Hardware& Asset Management • Perform deployment, replacement, and decommissioning of IT equipment. • Manage IT asset inventory and maintain accurate records. • Coordinate warranty claims and vendor support activities. • Conduct preventive maintenance checks on IT equipment. Incident& Service Request Management • Manage incidents and service requests through the ticketing system. • Ensure tickets are updated and resolved within agreed SLA timelines. • Escalate complex issues to relevant support teams when necessary. • Prepare incident reports and technical documentation when required. Infrastructure Support • Support LAN/WAN connectivity troubleshooting. • Assist with network device installation and basic troubleshooting. • Support printers, scanners, meeting room equipment, and AV systems. • Participate in IT projects, migrations, and system upgrades. Cybersecurity& Compliance • Ensure endpoint security solutions are installed and operational. • Perform basic security checks and vulnerability remediation activities. • Support cybersecurity initiatives such as patch management and endpoint monitoring. • Comply with company security policies and customer requirements. Technical Skills • Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 administration. • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and Azure AD. • Basic knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS. • Experience with hardware troubleshooting and deployment. • Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, Fresh service, or ManageEngine. • Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs). • Experience supporting printers and multifunction devices. Cybersecurity Knowledge (Preferred) • Familiarity with endpoint protection solutions. • Basic understanding of vulnerability management and security best practices. Soft Skills • Strong customer service and communication skills. • Good problem-solving and analytical abilities. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Team player with a positive attitude. • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
