School in West area Singapore seeking Discipline Support Officer (contract). Roles & Responsibilities Working Hour • Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays: 7.30am to 5.00pm (inclusive of 1 hour lunch break) • Wednesdays: 8:00am to 5.30pm (inclusive of 1 hour lunch break) • Fridays: 7.30am to 4.30pm (inclusive of 1 hour lunch break) Key Job Roles 1. Investigative & Case Support • Support the Student Management (SM) team in preliminary investigations, including fact-finding interviews • Gather statements from students and witnesses where appropriate, compile evidence, and prepare structured incident reports for relevant Key Personnel (KPs) for direction • Follow up on cases by liaising with parents, staff, and students to ensure proper closure 2. Maintaining Strong Discipline tone • Conduct regular patrols around the school to maintain order (e.g. checking stairwells, common areas, free-play areas, etc) • Oversee student behaviour during recess and break times, including managing queue discipline in the canteen (e.g. queue cutting) 3. Detention & Restorative Follow-Up • Coordinate with the SM team to ensure student attendance at detention sessions • Supervise detention sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday • Engage students constructively during detention sessions and maintain attendance and behaviour records • Track and follow up on students who miss detention 4. In-House Suspension Support • Assist SM team in managing students placed on in-house suspension or sent out of class • Support continuity of learning during suspension by coordinating with Year Heads 5. Reception Duties (Mainly during MOE scheduled School Holidays as listed on MOE website e.g. Mar, Jun, Sep and Year End holidays in Nov & Dec) • Manage front counter operations • Attend to visitors, parents, staff, and students and address their needs • Handle phone enquiries and complaints appropriately • Take down and relay messages to the appropriate staff • Transfer calls when necessary • Provide general administrative assistance to the admin office • Data entry and other assigned duties by the school Reporting Structure & Deployment • The appointed officer will report operationally to the school’s Student Management Committee • Deployment schedules will be determined by the school, in alignment with the termly school timetable and school events Requirements 1. Working Experience • Prior experience (preferably more than 3 years) in a uniformed service or educational setting (e.g., Police, Prison Service, School Discipline Team, or equivalent) is required, with involvement in youth-related case investigations and restorative work such as behavioural support 2. Competencies • Composed and level-headed when handling challenging student situations • Able to exercise authority with a firm yet respectful approach when working with students • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, teachers, and parents 3.
