About this role
The SSG Choral Programmes, consisting of 3 Performing ensembles: Singapore Symphony Chorus (SSC), Singapore Symphony Youth Choir (SSYC) and the Singapore Symphony Children’s Choir (SSCC); and 6 SSCC Training Wing ensembles. The Executive’s main responsibility is to coordinate general administrative and operational matters of the SSG Choral Programmes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Duties include, but are not limited to: General Administration • Handle general maintenance of the membership database • Liaise with prospective choristers and facilitate audition preparations • Coordinate collection of fees (membership, term and miscellaneous monies) • Prepare testimonials, letters and certificates • Maintain rehearsal schedules and choristers' calendars • Assist in communication with internal and external stakeholders via email and choral mobile, including dissemination of information to choristers and their families, and attending to public enquiries on choral programmes • Coordinate welfare of choristers in rehearsals and during performances Rehearsal & Concert Production • Library duties including preparation of music scores and music store maintenance • Assist with merchandise supplies and procurement e.g. costumes, uniforms and stationery • Prepare technical specifications & requirements for rehearsals/concerts in consultation with the conductors • Stage management duties for rehearsals and concerts • General backstage logistical duties Other Key Responsibilities • Collate and review information (e.g. biographies of artistic personnel, performers’list) relating to concerts and performance events • Support marketing initiatives, including coordinating production of social media content in collaboration with Marcomms colleagues, to boost publicity of events • Contribute to collaborative / outreach projects and partnerships • Any other duties assigned by Reporting Officer REQUIREMENTS • At least a Diploma or equivalent. • Work experience in artistic administration, or managing arts and/or community groups is a plus • Effective interpersonal as well as oral and written communication skills • Good command of Microsoft Office Suite(Excel, Word, PowerPoint) • Design-related software skills e.g. Canva, Photoshop, LightRoom would be an added advantage • A team player with the ability to engage a broad range of stakeholders and work well with diverse personalities • Resilient individual with positive energy and excellent organisation and planning skills • Interest in classical / choral music, knowledge of music theory and/or experience in a performing arts group or ensemble is advantageous • Commitment to a 21-hour work week comprising: Weekly Wednesday admin days between 9am to 6:30pm (8.5h with 1h lunch break); Weekly Saturday Training Wing sessions between 9am to 6:30pm (8.5h with 1h lunch break); Weekly Monday or Thursday rehearsals between 6:15pm to 10:15pm (4h) • Willingness to work outside regular hours on weekday evenings and weekends for events or concert productions if required (Please note: time off-in-lieu will be provided in consultation with Reporting Officer)
