We are developing an internal data systems platform that automates the processing, validation, and structuring of operational and financial data from Excel spreadsheets into standardized databases and formats. The platform is designed to handle real-world, messy datasets and transform them into reliable, structured outputs for operational use. Role OverviewAs a Full-Stack Data Systems Developer Intern, you will help build and enhance an internal platform that processes, cleans, validates, and structures data from Excel files into database-ready formats. You will gain exposure to backend development, data pipelines, database design, system integration, and, where relevant, frontend development for internal tools. This role is ideal for students interested in: • Full-stack development • Backend systems engineering • Data processing and transformation • Automation and workflow systems • Real-world software development Key Responsibilities• Develop and improve data processing pipelines for Excel-based datasets • Build backend systems for data extraction, transformation, and validation • Design and maintain SQL database schemas • Convert structured and unstructured data into JSON formats • Implement data cleaning and normalization logic • Debug and optimize system performance and reliability • Integrate files, databases, APIs, and backend services • Document system architecture and workflows • (Optional) Develop lightweight frontend tools for internal use Preferred SkillsExperience in one or more of the following is beneficial: • Python (especially data processing) • SQL and relational databases • JavaScript / TypeScript • React or other frontend frameworks • REST or GraphQL APIs • Excel and CSV data handling • ETL and data transformation pipelines • Git and version control Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who: • Thinks logically and approaches problems systematically • Is comfortable working with messy, real-world data • Can debug independently and think critically • Enjoys building end-to-end systems • Is proactive, curious, and self-driven • Communicates technical concepts clearly What You Will Gain• Hands-on experience building production-oriented data systems • Exposure to full-stack software engineering workflows • Experience working with real operational datasets • Opportunities to contribute to system architecture and design • Practical industry experience beyond academic projects • A flexible and collaborative working environment Outstanding interns may be considered for future full-time opportunities, subject to performance and mutual fit.
