Job Summary The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the company comply with health, safety, and environmental standards. This role safeguards employees, customers, and assets by implementing robust safety programs, conducting audits, and driving a culture of compliance and continuous improvement across diverse retail environments. Key Responsibilities • Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard identification for retail operations. • Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and industry standards. • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; recommend corrective and preventive actions. • Oversee emergency preparedness plans, including fire drills and evacuation procedures. • Monitor waste management, recycling, and pollution control measures. • Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials (fuel, cleaning chemicals, etc.). • Drive sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact. • Deliver HSE training programs for staff at all company premises. • Promote a safety-first culture through awareness campaigns and toolbox talks. • Ensure contractors and suppliers comply with HSE requirements. • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify compliance. • Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and corrective actions. • Prepare monthly/quarterly HSE performance reports for management. • Work closely with Operations, HR, and Facilities teams to align safety practices. • Support store managers in implementing HSE standards. • Liaise with regulatory authorities during inspections and certifications. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field. • At least 3 years of experience in HSE roles, ideally in retail industry. • Good knowledge of workplace safety regulations and environmental compliance. • Excellent communication, training, and report-writing skills. • Ability to travel frequently across multiple sites.
