Infrastructure Engineer (TSM/Banking)

Infrastructure Backup and Recovery Management • Demonstrate expert-level product knowledge for IBM Storage Protect (known as TSM) and competitive solutions. • Perform billable services engagements, including installation/implementation of IBM Storage Protect. • Support 24/7 shift operations independently. To Execute SOP for BAU Tasks (Skill Requirements with 2–4 Years of Experience) • In-depth knowledge of: • IBM Storage Protect Server on Windows & UNIX • IBM Spectrum Protect Server and Client operations • IBM Storage Protect for Databases (Oracle, DB2, SQL, etc.) • IBM Storage Protect for Mail (Domino and Exchange) • IBM Storage Protect for VMware • DRM implementation and management using IBM Storage Protect • Knowledge of Tape Libraries and LTO Tape Drives. • Audit application backup policies and environments. • Should have desired Operating System skills. • Responsibilities include providing remote and onsite support. • Analyze and resolve escalated problems within target timelines. • Problem determination and analysis skills. • IBM Storage Protect product skills on: • Windows • AIX • Linux (basic UNIX) • DB2 • Networking • Cohesity, NetBackup, and Vinchin backup software support for virtual infrastructure backup and recovery. • Troubleshoot VM backup failures using both NetBackup and Vinchin backup software. Other Skills • Good communication (oral & written) skills are essential. • Ability to quickly analyze and diagnose problems. • Hardworking and ready to learn. • Ability to participate and work with local and global teams. • Ready to take on additional challenges. • Ability to acquire new skills and keep them updated. • Ability to articulate and compare alternative approaches. • Creativity and judgment applied to professional, technical, or operational problems. • Independently generates solutions based on analytical, technical skills, and business knowledge. • Willing to work standby hours (public holidays/weekends) if required.
