RESPONSIBILITIES • Active participation in: • Designing course content, class assignments, and lab exercises. • Out-of-class support for technology assignments, projects, labs, and course-related matters. • Supporting in-class delivery of lab exercises. • Grading of assignments, lab exercises, projects, and exams. • Conduct enrichment workshops to strengthen students' technical skills. • Develop online and self-study learning materials. • Collaborate with faculty to improve the curriculum by incorporating current tools and practices, including AI-assisted development tools where they support the subject. • Guide students in the effective and responsible use of relevant tools, including AI assistants, in their coursework. • Partner with industry on application projects. • Mentor students on internships and application projects. • Contribute actively to SCIS events and school service activities, including outreach, Open House, and applicant interviews. • Spearhead a "special project" related to specialisation. • May take the lead in teaching selected undergraduate or postgraduate sessions. • Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in a computing discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Information Technology). • Master's degree in a computing discipline is an added advantage. • Strong, current software development skills, with proficiency in languages and tools relevant to SCIS courses. • Experience building real-world applications or systems, ideally including larger projects in a business or production setting. • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and support students at varying levels. • Familiarity with common software development tools and workflows. • Awareness of, or a willingness to learn, AI tools that support computing subjects, with an interest in helping students use them effectively and responsibly. • Good communication and collaboration skills for working with faculty and students.
