About this role
Mobile App Testing & Review Specialist – Job Description A Mobile App Testing & Review Specialist is responsible for testing mobile applications and reviewing their functionality, usability, and overall performance before and after they are released to users. The main goal of this role is to ensure that apps are working correctly, free of major issues, and provide a smooth and positive user experience. In this role, you will test different features of mobile applications on various devices and operating systems. This includes checking navigation, buttons, forms, login systems, performance speed, and overall user flow. You will follow basic test instructions or scenarios to ensure that each part of the app works as expected. A key responsibility is to identify and report bugs or issues found during testing. This includes problems such as app crashes, slow loading times, broken features, display errors, or incorrect app behaviour. You will document these issues clearly, including steps to reproduce them, so that developers can quickly understand and fix the problems. Another important part of the role is reviewing app updates and new features. Every time the app is updated, you will re-test key functions to ensure that improvements have been successfully implemented and that no new issues have been introduced. The Mobile App Testing & Review Specialist also provides feedback on user experience. This includes sharing opinions on how easy the app is to use, whether the design is clear, and whether any parts of the app may be confusing for users. This feedback helps improve the overall quality and usability of the app. You may also assist in writing simple test summaries or reports that highlight key findings, including tested features, issues found, and overall app performance. These reports are shared with development and product teams to guide improvements. Attention to detail is very important in this role, as even small issues can impact user satisfaction. Good observation and communication skills are also essential when describing problems clearly and accurately. Basic understanding of mobile apps and how they function is helpful. Familiarity with testing tools, spreadsheets, or bug tracking systems is an advantage but not always required. This role is suitable for individuals who are detail-oriented, patient, and interested in improving mobile apps through testing and feedback. It can be done remotely or in an office environment depending on the company.
