Network Engineer

Network Engineer (Contract) Thomson, Singapore 12-Month Contract (Renewable / Subject to Performance & Business Needs) Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications, relevant experience, and technical capabilities Standby support may be required OverviewThe Network Engineer is responsible for the analysis, design, installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure and related application components. The role ensures the stability, performance, and security of the Company’s network environment. The incumbent will also provide technical guidance and recommendations on network configurations, enhancements, and operational improvements. This role supports operational continuity and may require standby or on-call support. Key Responsibilities• Manage network-related incident, problem, and change management activities in accordance with ITIL processes. • Support commissioning, decommissioning, and technical refresh of network devices. • Troubleshoot network issues and collaborate with internal teams and vendors for resolution. • Ensure smooth delivery of network operations in compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs). • Perform firmware upgrades, patches, and updates for network devices. • Ensure network infrastructure compliance with security policies and standards. • Maintain accurate network asset inventory and capacity planning reports. • Prepare, update, and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures. • Participate in standby/on-call support arrangements as required. • Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned. Requirements• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business IT, or equivalent. • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in network administration, implementation, and support. • CCNP certification preferred. • Strong knowledge in:Firewall technologies (HA and virtual firewall concepts)Load balancersCore and distribution switchesRouter configuration (including high availability setups)LAN/WAN administration • Good understanding of service operations in a high-tech environment (vendor, system integrator, or operator perspective). • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with ability to resolve issues efficiently.
