About UsWe are an online education provider specialising in English literacy and writing for primary school and senior school students in Australia and Singapore. Our students range from Foundation to Year 10 and focus on creative writing, persuasive writing, reading comprehension, vocabulary development, and academic writing skills. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Writing Teacher who can inspire young learners and help them become confident writers. Working Hours• Fixed schedule: 4–6 hours per week • Online teaching via Zoom • Long-term commitment preferred Salary• SGD 60–100 per hour • Rate will depend on qualifications, teaching experience, and performance Responsibilities• Deliver engaging online writing lessons to primary school students (Years 1–6) • Teach entirely in English • Guide students in: Creative/Narrative Writing, Persuasive Writing, Paragraph Writing, Vocabulary Development, Grammar and Sentence Structure, Reading Comprehension and Written Responses • Provide personalised feedback on student writing • Mark the student's work and identify areas for improvement • Prepare lesson materials and lesson plans before class • Answer student questions and provide learning support outside class when required • Communicate professionally with parents regarding student progress and learning goals • Maintain student engagement through effective online teaching strategies Requirements• Minimum 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience in English Writing or English Language • Fluent in spoken and written English • Strong understanding of primary school writing instruction • Familiar with one or more of the following: Australian Curriculum English, or equivalent in Singaporean Curriculum English • Able to teach writing structure, vocabulary, sentence fluency, and idea development based on given teaching materials • Experienced in online teaching and proficient with Zoom • Able to manage student participation and maintain an interactive classroom environment • Strong communication skills with both students and parents • Responsible, organised, and able to work independently Preferred Qualifications• Degree in Education, English, Linguistics, Journalism, or a related field • Experience teaching Australian curriculum students • Experience in marking and providing detailed writing feedback • Familiarity with narrative writing techniques such as story structure, characterisation, tension building, and persuasive writing frameworks ApplicationPlease provide: • Resume/CV • Brief teaching introduction • Available teaching hours each week • Expected hourly rate • A sample of written feedback you have provided to a student (if available) • A short teaching demonstration video (if available) We welcome passionate educators who enjoy helping young learners develop strong writing skills and confidence in English.
